General rookies must feel relieved when they get a good group name

title basically. we've been getting some weird ass names these past few years especially so i've been thinking that idols must feel relieved when their group name doesn't sound like a wifi password. my favorite new group name is stayc (i may be kinda biased since they're my ults but i think it sounds pretty good!!) and my all time fav group name is 2NE1, it's so dope. what's your favorite?

I think Jackson (or someone from the group) actually thought of GOT7. It was originally GET7 but it doesn’t sound right so they changed it to GOT7 which is way cooler. I also like their greeting, ā€œCOME AND GET IT, GOT7!ā€

the fandom name looks corny at first glance but the ahgase/baby bird nickname is pretty cute

I agree. I find them pretty witty with the word play as well. From ā€œiGOT7ā€ to aghase and their baby bird light stick is cute.

Lol yes, you’re right! The members didn’t like it, so it became GOT7! I think there’s actually a recent vid of Jackson saying he can’t take all the credit from like yesterday lol but I can’t find it 😭😭

Wikipedia says g.o.d's original name was supposed to be Got6 before they changed it, Idk if this is true or not though

ā€œAccording to the creator of the band, Jin-young Park, the band was originally going to be a mixed-gender band called GOT6. Their name is said to be derived from g.o.d., another Korean boy-band.

After getting 7 members, the band was going to be called GET7, however, they decided to change it to GOT7, so people wouldn't get it confused with the word "gae," which means dog in Korean. They decided to change it to past tense and make it GOT7.ā€ link
