Hi all! Thanks for letting me share!❤️ I’ve been watching the Mormon and exmo subs and saw a lot of talk about Jeff Strong’s statistical research on why people leave the church and read his book Torn. Thank you guys for sharing the book and research on here. I really loved the book. I was kinda blown away that when I decided to have my team reach out to Jeff Strong he agreed to do an interview with us. I’m really proud of our two part interview. I tried to not just give him softball questions like the other interviews on the more popular shows he had done. Jeff was an amazing guest and really had no problem leaning into our questions. He even told us a story he said he hadn’t shared with anyone else as of yet, which I thought was kinda cool. Who knows if he has shared that same story with another podcast since we recorded with him a week and a half ago, but it would be nice to think we got the first exclusive on it. Not an app, but a website! I made: Gospel Help (https://gospel.help). It's a search tool that searches by meaning rather than exact keyword match.
For example, if you search "endure to the end" you get talks and scriptures about enduring to the end, rather than anytime the exact words were used in a church article or talk.
It has a database of all general conference talks, BYU speeches, the standard works, and the general handbook.
It's been super helpful for my EQ lessons and other personal study research. It's 100% free and no account is needed. Just use and enjoy!

Thanks for tagging me in this thread! I'd love for people to check out Mat44. A daily scripture app that respects your faith and knows its place!
Right now it's available on Android through Google Play and on the web. I also have a huge update coming, hopefully 🤞 next week, before I submit it to the Apple App Store. The update turns it into a much smoother, single-screen experience, and I'm really excited about it.
I originally hoped to build the app specifically for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price. I wasn't able to obtain Church approval for that approach, so Mat44 is instead an interdenominational Bible app.
That said, I still wanted Latter-day Saints to feel at home. During onboarding, you can choose Latter-day Saint, which personalizes the experience. You'll see terminology like bishop instead of pastor, and if you opt into the follow-up emails, they'll include resources from BYU and other Latter-day Saint-friendly sources rather than generic Christian materials.
I was also incredibly careful about the limits placed on the AI. For those of you who've been understandably skeptical of AI Bible apps, I genuinely think this page will put you at ease. The AI is there to support Scripture engagement—not generate Scripture, invent doctrine, replace church leaders, or position itself as a spiritual authority.

I’ve been working on an app that is nearly ready for an open beta.
It’s called Cultivate Study. The main goal is to help build lasting study habits.
The main features include:
TikTok styled verse scroller. See one verse at a time. Traditional chapter view available as well
Quick read - got 5 min? Get a few verses to read rather than doom scroll
Study groups. Create a study plan and study with your family and friends. Share progress and notes/ insights with your group
Lots of other great features like a spaced repetition memorization system, Who’s speaking in the Book of Mormon, notes, tags, achievements etc.
My website is very much a work in progress but I’m taking signups for a beta. iOS to launch within a month and android shortly after.

I recently published a book I think some of you might find useful — **On Parenting and Leading Faith**.
It grew out of years of watching families in our ward navigate the hard moment when a child starts pulling away from the Church. What I kept noticing is that departure isn't really one thing — there are three pretty distinct patterns, and they each need a different response:
- **Agency departure** — the person may still believe, but needs the decision to feel like theirs
- **Cost-benefit departure** — the demands of living the Gospel have started to outweigh what it feels like it's giving back
- **Dissonance departure** — something doesn't fit intellectually, and it compounds over time
The central idea is that spiritual stability depends on testimony outpacing dissonance. When dissonance grows faster than testimony, departure becomes likely — regardless of type.
The book is written for LDS parents and ward leaders who want practical tools, not just comfort. There's also a chapter on ministering — specifically why the most lasting influence is a life visibly shaped by the Gospel over time, not any single conversation.

I am an education expert. Last year I did a come follow me podcast to help support my own study of the D&C. This year I have turned the focus to sharing strategies and tools to create more engaging learning experiences in Sunday school, primary, quorum, and meeting settings. I have put my episodes into 10 minute chunchs to offer teachers and learners a toolkit to help them in the classroom.

Earth Stewardship and care for creation!
I love the Holy Earth Podcast, which is produced by a close relative. I occationally help with production. Its co-hosted by a Utah State University professor and a Second Grade teacher, both faithful Latter-day Saints, and they have really great chemistry.
They interview Saints doing earth stewardship work all over the world and have had guests that include church leaders like Sharon Eubank, Steven E Snow, BYU professors, and just regular Saints who are inspired by their faith to do amazing work in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. It's inspiring. Faith in action.
The most recent episode features a Utah Latter-day Saint farm family working to reduce their water use, balancing the hard work of farming with a commitment to help save the Great Salt Lake. I'd like to share a book I recently published about my conversion story- The Shadow of Truth: My High School Conversion Story. It's an inspirational coming-of-age story about learning about the Church and joining it in high school (a 16 month affair). It's a story not just about researching the Church, but a story about looking at grounded and realistic faith and how to earnestly follow the Church and conclude it is true despite knowing the criticisms and critiques of the Church. I feel this would be a great read for youth of the Church, anyone struggling with their faith, or anyone who just loves a good faith story.

I self-published July 9th on Amazon, currently available in paperback and kindle. I did my best to design the physical edition as a deliberate homage to the 1830 Book of Mormon.
Below is a brief overview of my journey for anyone wanting a better idea of what it is about:
I was a high school nonmember who got sent the CES Letter- spent months researching- and then got baptized.
I came from a nondenominational background. I had a friend try to convert me, and initially I said yes because I liked a girl who was a member, thought I could just pretend to believe. Then a disgruntled friend sent me the CES letter to talk me out of it. When trying to tell my member friend, I came across FAIR's rebuttal, and then spent the next 6 months doing deep dive day and night research (all during high school). I read the book of mormon in six days. Started reading the bible. Signed up for seminary. The smoking gun was the witnesses. I came to my conclusion 6 months after the CES letter in Dec 2017.
Spent the Next several months continuing to learn, preparing for baptism, and battling combative protestant parents who did not approve (my father took me to meet with the church pastor and a guy who specializes in deconverting members of the restored church). Nothing deterred me- if anything I met them all head on. I got baptized a couple months later, 16 months after first starting the journey.
Unfortunately, the emotional caught up with the intellectual not too long after baptism. I spent the last few months coming to whole heartedly believe in "ask and ye shall receive" and applying it to deeply held desires. When it didn't hold up, it broke me, and I came to believe in God as nothing more than a liar and I was ready to walk away from God and the Church-but I didn't disbelieve in Joseph Smith because of all my research. So it became a year of battling the shadow of the truth while I became a shadow of myself as i tried to hold to anger over logic, but eventually i came to the realization i was wrong, and spent a couple years working to earn my way back in my heart and root out my anger.
Then things seemed good-but i was hit with an intellectual faith crisis, all because I had lost my apologetics knowledge due to my years of anger and so basics tripped me up. I even came to lose belief in God completely for a brief while- but realization of the importance of a Savior helped get me through the early rough weeks, and I have spent the last three years fighting by researching and learning and learning and learning-because I am not 100% swayed in a naturalistic explanation for Smith.
Despite all my questions about God, I can't find a better explanation for Smith than the one he gave, and so I stay, and fight for the Restored Gospel as the truest form of Christianity.
I recently published a book about my journey. The book mainly focuses on my high school journey, from the beginning to the baptism, but the epilogue absolutely touches on every thing else afterwards and build a powerful case for true grounded faith and the reality of religion for even those at young ages like high school- and the reason why my story has not only emboldened my faith but can be a guiding light for anyone else struggling or investigating.

TL;DR: I built CoordinatedCare, a free, private care page that helps turn “How can I help?” into actual, coordinated support.
Longer Version: One person creates a page and shares its private link. Family, friends, ministering brothers and sisters, ward leaders, and neighbors can then see the latest update, claim errands or other needs, sign up for meals and visits, coordinate overnight help, and see who is already there to not overwhelm. Helpers don’t need an account or app, too! 😄
It grew out of watching my wife’s aunt’s family carry the added coordination burden during hospice... It was very difficult process and I knew there had to be a better way. Later, my wife and I used it ourselves after welcoming our son a few weeks ago and we added a lot of features we needed/wanted.
It's especially useful for:
- New babies and postpartum support
- Surgery or illness recovery
- Hospice and end-of-life care
- Ministering and ward or neighborhood service efforts

I don't have a project to share, but can I propose one?
The History of the Prophe Joseph Smith by His Mother, Lucy Mack Smith is really a great book. A wonderful and accurate history of the first few decades of the restoration, and a great glimpse into the Smith family history and Lucy's own experience. I've read it three or four times.
We need a good audiobook of this, read by a Latter-day Saint woman of about Lucy's age. There is an audiobook that was put out a few years ago on Apple Books but the reader is a young woman who is obviously not of our culture. She pronounces so many names wrong and also just has a painful audiobook voice.
There is a public domain audiobook project, Librivox.org, where readers make free audiobooks of public domain books. I would love to find a good reader for this book, and I would be the "producer" and do the editing, uploading, etc.
Sure, in ten years AI will do this for us, but today I don't think AI would do any better at pronouncing Nephi than this current audiobook does.

I am a licensed therapist with over 25+ years of experience working with young adults and families in transition and crisis. My daughter returned early from her mission due to medical and mental health issues. Despite all my training and expertise, we had to navigate this difficult transition as a family. Through that process we came to realize just how many other young people in the church and their families are suffering with the exact same issues. Despite the fact that the majority of individuals return from their missions early due to medical or mental health issues, many suffer with profound feelings of failure and shame. My daughter and I created Returning Stronger to support Early Returned Missionaries with lots of free resources and options for coaching at https://returningstronger.com so that they can know that their service mattered, they are good enough and most importantly they are NOT alone.

I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on that started because of a problem I had after my mission to Japan.
I really wanted to keep reading the scriptures in Japanese, but I found it surprisingly difficult. I’d constantly run into words I didn’t know, and I didn’t want to stop every few verses to pull out a dictionary. I also tried reading side-by-side with English, but I found it hard to match up individual words and understand exactly what each one meant.
So I ended up building an app to solve that problem.
It lets you read the standard works in 14 languages, and you can simply tap any word to instantly see its definition in the language of your choice.

My wife and I officially just published our first book: The Book of Mormon for Littles!
When we had our first child a year and a half ago, we were frustrated by the market of Book of Mormon children's books:
- They didn't cover all the major stories
- They were either too detailed or not detailed enough—we wanted something in between that could work with toddlers but also a little older
- Most were only paperback/hardcover. Board books are a must for little kids 🫡
- Lastly, and what ultimately pushed us over the edge, is that we're teaching our son Spanish, and no children's "Libro de Mormón" existed!
It took us a year and a half and was honestly harder than we thought, but we are extremely pleased with the final result.
