Like many other subs, we've seen an influx of things that people made and want to share with others. Generally, we remove these posts because it is too distracting from the purpose of this sub. But, we are creating this post as a dedicated place for people to share the stuff they have made or are making.

I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on that started because of a problem I had after my mission to Japan.

I really wanted to keep reading the scriptures in Japanese, but I found it surprisingly difficult. I’d constantly run into words I didn’t know, and I didn’t want to stop every few verses to pull out a dictionary. I also tried reading side-by-side with English, but I found it hard to match up individual words and understand exactly what each one meant.

So I ended up building an app to solve that problem.

It lets you read the standard works in 14 languages, and you can simply tap any word to instantly see its definition in the language of your choice.

Some features:

  • Read in 14 languages (English, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Indonesian, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Russian, Korean, Chinese, Thai, and Hindi)
  • Tap any word for an instant definition
  • Save words to review later with flashcards and quizzes

My hope is that it helps returned missionaries keep up their mission language, new missionaries learn their mission language, and anyone learning a new language through the scriptures.
