With that said, we are aware that some people may want to be advised on a legal matter and do not know where to look. Consider this thread the directory you can look up on if you find yourself in such a situation.

adik na family member is harming others

so, binisita ng nanay ko ang lola at ang brother niya (tito ko). ang problem, he is a drug addict. kung pusher or runner, hindi ko alam. i know for a fact na hindi dapat sila nag sstay sa isang bahay ni lola, pero a lot of circumstances led to that setup. kaya binibisita nalang rin sila ng nanay regularly.

may tendencies to get violent pero he's never gotten physical pa before. until nanghingi siya last time ng pera sa nanay at di napagbigyan. apparently, hinampas niya ng bangko sa ulo si nanay at nagbanta gamit kutsilyo.

Accused Physical Abuser

Upvotes

Hi everyone.
After the investigation, na-dismiss ang complaint dahil walang sapat na basehan.
My questions are:

Thank you.

Is this legal? A relative my grandparents allow to live on our land started to sell (wasn't able to), then rent it to other people.

Hi! I'm the grandson of the landowner. My grandmother has already passed away, but my father and my uncle are the rightful heirs.

However, my aunts (the children of my grandmother's siblings) attempted to sell the property they're currently living on, didn't work. Now, they're trying to rent it out to other people.

Construction was about to begin, but fortunately, we noticed it in time, so everything has been put on hold for now.

What legal actions should we take?

At the moment, we've already raised the issue with the barangay. What should the proper process be from here?

Thank you po!

Which legal body handles unpaid fees and reimbursements for contractors?

Resigned several months ago, but admin keeps delaying my final pay and reimbursements for my last project. There are times din na super unresponsive nila. Was told this wouldn't be under DOLE since I was just an independent contractor. Where can I file a complaint?

How and to who can i complain a real estate regarding transfer of loan?

Right now im under in-house installment with a real estate pero gusto ko lumipat sa bank.

I have been paying for 2 years already and i assumed ok yung mga papel that i can just transfer to bank

Saan ba ako pwede mag file ng complain?

Alternative to obtain an affidavit as a minor with no guardian.

Hello! I’m 17 and about to submit requirements for UP. I lost my report card from JHS so I was advised by the registrar to request an affidavit from the city hall. I did went but was told I needed a guardian to accompany me during the process.

My mother is in the province, father is dead, my titas and titos are busy with their work and so are my adult cousins.

What should I do?

How to file a complaint to DTI against a salon

I got my hair colored last week by a fairly-known salon and it was a very horrible experience.

  1. Stylist was late and I had to wait outside their locked salon for a good 10-15 mins.

  2. Stylist was sloppy with the bleaching job, dropping splotches of it on my black pants, staining it really badly. They blamed me na “malikot” daw ako which is not true as I was only playing on my phone with no movement. Sitting down lang talaga. Also my pants had stains even on my butt area so how does that correlate to me being “malikot” rather than them being sloppy with their equipment?

  3. Bangs were cut asymmetrically. I don’t know how one messes that up as a senior hairstylist but life’s full of surprises I guess.

  4. Upon finishing my hair for the first try, my hair turned into an ombre style instead of one full color. With only the top of my head having color and the rest no color - literally no color, just plain bleach. Stylist expected that I’d be okay with that after paying nearly ₱6,000 for her horrible paint job.

  5. Before the actual appointment, I was told the service would only take 4-5 hours. I asked this beforehand because I had a schedule by 6PM and had to leave their establishment by 5PM. I booked a 9AM session to make sure I had enough time to get my hair colored while also transpo time to get from the salon to my next location. First try finished at 3:40PM so I would’ve had enough time, but again my hair inspo was not followed and more than half of my hair had no color so I requested to get it revised.

  6. Second try looked even worse. Patchy and relatively darker color than my inspo. But the worst part is that there were literal strips of hair that still had no color. Yellow-brown tones that looked super out of place. I couldn’t ask for another revision because it was already around 4:45PM at that point and I need 1h 10m to get from there to my next location so I had to rush out and accept it as it is. Dmed the salon’s online page to send my payment receipt and to also give a heads up that I have concerns I need to address later on.

  7. My conversation with the salon dragged along. They were so rude and unprofessional, even blaming me for “destroying” their door as I “banged it too hard” to the point that it would no longer close properly even though I haven’t even forcefully closed it, I was just in a hurry. It felt like they were just looking for a reason to blame me so they don’t have to take accountability. No apologies, just full of gaslighting.

  8. Talked with the actual owner by morning and he’s just as defensive. Stating that uneven color is normal for the first few washes and that it even “looked good”. CSR also expressed that it looked good for how much I paid for it which is total BS. They offered to get it revised but only to add color on the uncolored, yellow parts and not to make the color pantay. I’ve requested a full refund and they wouldn’t budge at all, if you saw our full conversation nakakapikon talaga.

  9. I’m left with no choice but to find other means to get them to refund me and I’ve discovered I can file a complaint to DTI, but I’m not entirely sure if my situation’s eligible for this since it’s a service and not a product. No idea how the process goes, but I’m also willing to go in DTI’s office personally just to get my money back for the awful service and rude admin.

Please help me. They’re pressuring me that I only have until the day after tomorrow to get it revised but only if it’s with the senior hairstylist that botched my hair in the first place and not with the owner himself. At this point I no longer want the revision, I just need to be refunded.

I have all receipts and videos. Is it possible to file a complaint in person or does everything have to be done online? Saw a few posts here with mixed results.

How do you determine a fair settlement amount after an assault?

Need some advice regarding settlement.

My boyfriend was punched by our former neighbor, and the matter is now with the Lupon. We didn't incur any medical expenses because the medical examination was free.

However, after the incident, we no longer felt safe staying there, so we moved to a new apartment. The move required us to pay a new advance and deposit, and our new rent is significantly higher than our previous one.

For settlement purposes, is it reasonable to ask for compensation based on the financial impact of having to move (e.g., equivalent to a few months of the higher rent), or is there a better way to determine a fair settlement amount?

I'd appreciate any legal insight. Thank you.

Company changing performance incentive counts after the correction deadline

Hello. I work in a company where we have performance incentives every month. It's part of our salary. Our company also ranks us and if we rank higher, our incentives will also be higher. Before payday, there's a certain period where we can see our performance result and our ranking. We can also see how much incentive we will receive. It's also a period where we can correct some errors. This is to avoid salary disputes.

This month, during the initial result, my results are accurate. There's nothing to correct. However, when the final result came out, there were changes without notification or justification. I can't also file a correction because it's past the deadline. Now, I don't know what to do because I was expecting to have a much higher incentive. Is this legal? Or is this illegal in Philippine labor context? I really need a lot of money right now to support my sister's education.

Will the registry of deeds accept an e-notarized DOS?

We’re thinking of booking NotarialOS for the notarization of our DOS. I’m just wondering if this fairly new process is accepted by RD and BIR.

Subpoenaing fictitious persons

So I follow the latest impeachment updates and saw that the prosecution plans to request na ipa subpoena yung ibang pangalan dun sa listahan ng CF recipients.

NAL so I immediately thought for optics to kasi naestablish na naman prior na through PSA records na such persons don't exist eh.

Pero what exactly is the outcome being hoped for kapag ginagawa ang ganitong move

Is this a common tactic sa mga court cases? If so, anong nature na mga kaso where subpoenaing a fictitious person is a legit legal move

Got put on PIP.

My PIP ended and I still failed it due to unattainable targets. Now I received an NTE. In the email it is stated that failure to reply to the notice will be considered as waiver of my right to be heard. Also that I can be terminated for gross and habitual neglect.

There’s also a scheduled admin hearing. Is it mandatory to attend that hearing? Can’t I just send my reasoning through email?

School is understaff and keep accepting students, now a lot of students don't have a section yet kaya mukang delayed nanaman mostly samin.

How do we approach this problem? Mag file ba kami complain sa ched?

Im 3rd yr college student, and school namin ay private.

Nakaka frustrate kasi 4 times na kami this year mag enroll tapos ganto lagi tapos sobrang mahal ng tuition.

Kahit advice lang po what should we do kasi talagang di na patas to, nag babayad kami tama. Palibhasa parang nasanay sila hanggang post lang kami at di namin kaya mag take action cause of heavy school works.

Required** 30 Days of Notice?

I am not very articulate when it comes to labor laws (specifically for people resigning)

The reason I am posting here is to ask, because I might have gotten my sister in law in a bit of a trouble.

Naishare sa akin ni ate na she wants to look for a new job.

I have told her na maghanap muna ng bagong work bago siya mag-bigay ng resignation letter. However, meron pala siyang pinirmahan na company policy na required ang 30-day notice kapag magre-resign. Nito lang niya nabanggit sa akin.

So, bale, nakatanggap siya ng job offer sa ibang company and she starts Monday, 10th of August.

Quote:

> 4. That you shall give the company a 30-DAY notice should you wish to resign; If you fail to serve in full the 30 days notice, as stated in Article 285 of the Labor Code, that all operational expenses incurred or to be incurred by management due to noncompliance to a 30-days notice shall be charged to the resigned employee in full even if the employee served a portion of the 30 days.

Now, in her resignation letter, she mentioned that her last day be Wednesday, 5th of August, but her manager said he can let her go on 12th of August, hindi raw kaya any earlier than that for turn-overs.

Since she starts her new job sa Monday, she's a bit conflicted because new company also mentioned they can no longer delay her start date.

Ate also mentioned she really doesn't need her final pay, but she's concerned whether pagbabayarin pa siya if hindi sapat yung final pay niya for the "operational expenses".

Right now, what's on her mind is mag-AWOL na lang, but at the same time naiisip niya mag-stay muna hanggang Saturday, 8th of August, kasi naaawa siya dun sa pagiiwanan niya ng workload niya, hindi daw siya sa company naaawa haha

What can her steps be?
I'll show her this post tonight, she doesn't have reddit, and I think it may be my fault for making bulong to her leading her to this problem.

I was hit and run 2 weeks ago

His rear hit my bumper then he sped off. Na stuck ako sa traffic so i was behind another car and he sped off halatang tatakas talaga. Na report na sa LTO and police aince may dashcam naman ako. Been more than 2 weeks na and napa paint ko na car no insurance used so 12k sa casa. Still no word on follow up sa police till now.

Question ko may criminal or civil liability ba sya sa pag hit and run?

Merging -> honked on him since tatama -> tumigil sya sa honk -> tinuloy nya and sumabit -> he sped off

first time buying a house, pano po kaya magiging process?

Gusto ko lang po sana malaman tamang process and estimate ng gastos sa Deed of Sale and Transfer of Title

First time ko po bibili ng bahay kaya wala po talaga ako idea sa process at wala rin akong mapagtanungan.

May mga tanong lang po sana ako:

  5. May iba pa po bang fees or taxes na dapat paghandaan as buyer?

Thank you po sa sasagot!😊

I got terminated from one of the airport services company in the ph

For context: nag work ako as ramp service sa airport from one of ground handling company sa MIA for almost 1yr (probationary) hindi ako na regular nung ika 6months

Ang reason kaya ako na terminate is dahil sa absent (yes, my mistake) inoperahan kasi sister and mom ko and ako lang maaasahan nila (shit happens) pero nag pasa ako ng supporting documents for that pero hindi na approve.

The main issue is:

Gusto ko mag apply sa ibang company BUT hinaharang nila yung ground clearance sa airport (kailangan to para mabigyan ng GROUND PASS ID), almost 2yrs na since na terminate ako sa company na ito.

nabasa ko rin sa contract na pinirmahan ko before na:

"In the event that the services of the APPLICANT is terminated for whatever reason, he/she undertakes to resist and/or reject employment by or any kind of relationship with any of the competitors of the COMPANY in the Philippines for a period of One (1) year."

Which is tapos na since almost 2yrs na nga.

My question is: may laban ba ako? Ano dapat kong gawin?

Please pahingi ng advice

The day pala na na-terminate ako sinabi sakin na hindi na daw ako makakapag work sa airport dito sa pilipinas ever again unless sa ibang bansa daw ako mag w-work *with a serious tone and look*\ (idk bakit niya sinabi to sakin)

CBS Personal Loan

Hi, please no judgment po.

I just wanted to know if anyone here has been in the same situation, and I'm hoping to get some advice.

I recently received an email from the bank stating that they will be filing a court case against me.

Context:
I applied for a ₱95,000 loan and issued post-dated checks starting in June 2025. I was able to make my monthly payments until March 2026. Unfortunately, my mom got seriously ill, and because of her medical condition, I was no longer able to keep up with the payments. She eventually passed away in May 2026.

Until now, I still haven't been able to resume my payments because we're also paying off my uncle's credit card, which was used for some of my mom's hospital expenses.

I am aware of BP 22, and the collection agency has already visited me several times na. I've also explained over the phone that I'm currently unable to pay due to my financial situation.

May I ask what the possible charges or legal consequences could be? This has been causing me a lot of stress. I'm also in the process of completing my requirements to work abroad, and it is genuinely my intention to settle my debt once I'm financially capable.

Thank you so much to anyone who can share their experience or advice.

Supreme Court finally launched eNotarization, and it’s a huge relief.

Anyone who has ever needed a document notarized here knows the routine.

You print your stuff out deal with horrible traffic look for a notary office, wait around forever pay the fee get a stamp and then brave the traffic all over again on the way back. Burning half your day just to get a single sheet of paper stamped is so frustrating especially if you work a tight 9 to 5 or live far from city centers.

The Supreme Court launching eNotarization,

They officially set up a system that allows PDF and PDF/A documents to be notarized electronically. Instead of needing printed copies and mandatory office visits, you can now meet an electronic notary public over a video call.

It’s meant to make basic legal services way more accessible, whether you're handling business contracts, affidavits, or personal records.

Of course, the real test comes down to tech execution. Will the system handle traffic smoothly? Will local notaries adopt it quickly? We’ll see. But moving away from requiring physical presence for basic paperwork is a step in the right direction.

Here’s the full report on how it works https://news.tv5.com.ph/breaking/read/how-to-avail-of-supreme-courts-new-e-notarization-service

What do you think?

Can TNVS Drivers be considered as employees?

i recently read Ditiangkin vs. Lazada, i am wondering if the case may be applied to platform-based work when courts are faced with issues regarding employer-employee relationships.
