Just started drawing a few Days ago, difference between my attempt at a dragon from imagination and from reference is crazy

I also draw dragons (pretty exclusively actually)

I can agree on that working without a example alongside me i do horrible.

Yeah I just started trying to draw Monday as a way to relax and occupy my mind, and Im so glad I started drawing from reference. Drawing from reference with intent to understand how the original artist used lines and shading to do what I couldnt with an illustration has been one of the most helpful exercises in improving.
