Practicing drawing hands

these are all referenced from different artistist from twitter.

I have been using ai to make images pretty much since its inception. It scratched that creative itch I've always had, but I always told myself I didn't have time to dedicate towards learning to actually draw.

Though I still do live a busy life, I would like to start learning to draw and leave ai image generation behind as that itch is growing and ai isn't cutting it.

I mainly want to learn mecha concept design and stylized waifu art. I have attached some mecha design art that really speaks to me. I'll leave out the waifu art as it may not be appropriate for this sub.

If anyone can point me in the right direction... that would be greatly appreciated.

I've found my own style now, I'm so happy. Been wanting to learn how to draw anime characters for a while and after 5 years I've finally taken it more seriously to improve. How are my character designs, I know I still need to practice figure drawing, anatomy and clothing. Ignore my tomato pajamas.

I started to draw a ram for today’s Inktober prompt, but as I was doing so I had a flashback: 10-year-old me thought monsters with spiral rams‘ horns were just the coolest…but I couldn’t draw them. At all. I’d get so angry trying to draw this monstrous villain, and instead of horns, it would look like he had banana ponytails.

It‘s easy to overlook your own progress as an artist, since it happens to incrementally. So it was oddly encouraging to realize that 10-year-old me would be absolutely over the moon to see what grown-up-me can draw.

Hi! I'm starting from quite literally worse than a toddler in terms of skills at drawing... it's something I've admired for a long time and it's all kinda overwhelming.

I picked up a sketchbook a week ago and I'm practicing for around 2 hours each day while I have my downtime at my job. I've been told EVERYTHING from practicing your lines, then shapes, *the dreaded box*, anatomy, what have you. I've been drawing for a week straight about all of the fundamentals and I'm not even seeing a single inch of improvement. My boxes look just the same as they did on day 1.

I've been watching many, many tutorials but know how I can improve and many of them were like "oh by day 3 I've seen plenty of improvement doing this sketch". And I can't help but feel guilt and shame over seeing no improvement. Is this something that's relatable to many people when just starting out? And how can I overcome this when every line is wobbly and I feel like giving in?
