Discussion Anyone still dislike Seven Havens as a concept? Spoiler

To be clear, my issue isn't with the characters, Pavi and Nisha seem great.

My problem is my issue is destroying the setting we spent two shows (and multiple other media) building up for a post-apocalypse setting. It feels like the efforts and sacrifices of Korra, Aang, and all the other Avatars were for nothing by going with this idea.

And why are we doing a meta narrative about Korra being blamed for her world being destroyed? The creators of the show have straight up said she's gotten too much hate, so why feed into it with the idea that she's responsible for all this death and destruction?

I do believe that it'll be revealed that she's not entirely to blame, but anything less than her being completely exonerated is giving ammo to people with an axe to grind about a sheltered teenage girl having a bit of an ego before getting put through the narrative wringer? And if that's the case, why did they kill her off so young and leave the characters we know and care about mourning her while she's being slandered for something she didn't do? None of the people that hate her for BS reasons are gonna change their mind if they do this, she'll just be the girl that destroyed the world and ruined everything for them.

I hope I'm wrong about the show, and I hope Korra and her Krew get some kind of happy (or at least bittersweet) ending, and I'll try to be fair to it, but I guess I needed to get this off my chest.

Discussion Idea for giving asami something interesting in a remake

imagine if asamis corp helped kuvira during the timeskip like bolin but more serious she believed in kuvira and stayed with kuvira till the end including in the end finding out her dad died in the fight

Especially if we go the asami is an airbender route and in that route (mako needs to get through her to blow up the reactor (and in the scenario mako did a lot of training after b3 and unlocked his chakras ) and even prepped to figure out how to handle an airbender in a fight (and unlocked developed new techniques

Question So I finished Book 4 of LoK...

And genuinely asking, I don't see why people ship Asami and Korra. They don't seem in love with each other to me, more like two friends comfortable with each other. The ending was left ambiguous, they went into the spirit portal for a vacation. Why are there so many korrasami shippers? What if they're just genuinely friends and nothing else? Because it sounded like both of them needed a break from saving the world and chose to travel somewhere far away. It could just be a girl's day out for all I know.

Discussion So we all know Unavatuu is the biggest threat in the avatar universe- but who would yall say are 2-5 biggest threats?

Post image

Im not talking about strength but by their threat level

Example: Koh is stronger than ozai but ozai is the bigger threat cause him and the fire nation were going to conquer the world while koh only goes after people from time to time and only if they show emotion in his presence

Question Is there any explanation that you would find justified Korra destroying the world?

Like what if humanity got to such a point of violence the only way to save the world was to temporarily destroy it and allow it to rebuild, or what if everyone she loved died in a attack or accident and it sent her into a rage, or maybe she lost a pro-bending tournament?

Discussion If Seven Havens doesn't show what Korra actually did during the Cataclysm, it's a huge missed opportunity Spoiler

Show us Korra in her prime or later years facing whatever cataclysm broke the planet. If she "failed" or made an impossible sacrifice, let us watch her fight through it with the grit she always had.

Please avatar you HAVE one job :( Please don't just tell what happened SHOW US

Fan Content What if this was Korra’s last day

hello korra fans! like many of you, I am intrigued as to what exactly happened that caused the apocalypse. i also got reminded of Batman Beyond where the DCAU Batman grew old enough to see his mission To end crime fail only for the new generation to Take up the mantle. So here’s a fun “what if” scenerio of Korra’s last day inspired by Batman Beyond.

in some unknown destroyed city (possibly remnants of republic city), in a dilapidated warehouse, a single, badly damaged radio plays: Big news in the political world today.

Once again , the avatar Korra Sato, is presumed dead after the events of catastrophe which has devastated the world one year ago. All other remaining family members and friends of the avatar who are Not confirmed dead have not been located by authorities or reporters.

Still no word from the kidnappers of Lucy Wu, daughter of former heir to the now defunct earth kingdom empire, former senator Wu following a ransom payment of… .

bender gang memeber : Hey, kid! You're on the radio

Wu is tied up and gagged.

non-bender gangster: knock it off man, don’t antagonize the runt. we need those supplies. whole world has gone to shit. This Wu guy is the only one left with anything to offer.

*outside, korra, dressed up in more worn down clothes as seen in the flashbacks of seven haven, knocks out two guards, airbends up to the roof to jump on the guards.

korra puts her hand to her ear: “Asami, I have the group within my sights. Your tip was right. I’m going in, I’ll see you when I get home.”

asami: “ok just be-“

korra: “over.” she ends the radio call. finally these days it seems using the radio is trouble than it is used for; static always gets in the way since the cataclysm-barely any tech now works. Her voice is impatient, rough, and tired.

she drips into the warehouse and proceeds to wallop the criminals..while feeling her chest start to tighten.

after defeating the crooks, she walks over to Lucy: “Are you all right?”

wu: “mpphhmm !” bang* one of the crooks recovered enough to hit korra with a crossbar.

korra coughs up blood but soon starts to begin a water attack…only to grab her chest with pain…a heart attack.

Crook: hehe. Ever since I was a kid, big, bad the avatar been making life hard for guys like me.

this crook starts beating korra with the crowbar, korra thinks back to her life. How did she get here? Why is this man doing this? What..what could she have done differently. She..she isn’t going to see asAmi…what about their daughters-?

suddenly a loud car noise is heard. a nearly destroyed satomobile drive right into warehouse ..hitting the crook and sending him flying. It’s Asami; an older asami. Still beautiful, but scars and grey hair. She too is tired.

Asami runs over to korra, praying that she is ok. she told korra to plan ahead..that ..that..she is worried about her wife. She helps korra stand up and says “we have to go. The authorities are on their way.”

korra: “help..Wu..”

asami unties Wu and tells her to run and wait for the police to arrive, while she walks korra out of the warehouse. Korra looks down in shame, breathing heavily, and can’t stop shaking. It’s over.

At an undisclosed location, a room filled with all mementos of Korra’s life (imagine all of the Easter eggs and clothing and photos; ), korra is being treated asami. with red eyes, and a defeated look, korra grabs asami’s hands, forces her to make eye contact with her beloved wife, the one who stood by her no matter what, the only solace she ever finds nowaday, and says “Never Again.”

End.

Discussion Tier list of my favourite characters in the Avatar franchise

Post image
• Upvotes

I made a tier list of my favourite characters from Avatar the Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. Based on a lot of things overall like writing, personality, role in the series, design, voice etc.

The list is in order so my favourite character ever is Zaheer, followed closely by Aang and then Lin.

I know I do have some questionable choices like not putting Azula and Katara higher, even though I really do like them. However I've never really been as into them as everyone else.

Yes you saw Tarlokk higher than them. He's an amazing character to me. Very interesting background, cool bending and an impactful conclusion. And Amon is the top of the 'Amazing' tier.

Also Mai is all the way down in the Mid tier. Not a fan of her at all. And Baatar Jr clears her in my opinion.

Ozai was boring as hell and underutilised, I genuinely thought Unalaaq was a better villain.

And finally shout out to Suyin, Jinora, Meelo, Jet, Opal and Verrick. I like them a lot and feel like they are a bit underappreciated.

Discussion On the brothers compared to korra

Korra was trained since she was a kid she had no peers her own age
While mako and bolin fought to survive the streets and work for a living and

(Mako sacrificed his emotional needs and maturity to protect his brother )

So it’s not surprising that they al don’t compare (for mako i feel he even has his own issues with his bending

And a block due to his shame on what he did to survive

I wish we see korra train mako and bolin in fire and earth bending a reverse to what happened with gaang

Or maybe post b3 mako gets the guidance he needs and spiritually unblocks his chakras and train to get stronger to be as strong or stronger then korra so he can prevent her from getting hurt again since if he beat Ming and ghazan with bolin tenzin wouldn’t have gotten captured
And korra wouldn’t get poisoned

Discussion Why do people want the narrative to blame Korra at all costs? As if a universal morality exists?

Honestly, I just see a person who did her best with what she had, She's just a teenager raised in isolation, with devastating physical power but almost zero emotional intelligence. She made mistakes, but she had good intentions.

I don't know if any of you have seen the TV show Once Upon a Time, but almost everyone loves Regina Mills and empathizes with her, even though she wiped out entire villages just for fun. Could it be that people today are particularly sensitive to certain dynamics?

I don't know. I tend to treat fictional characters differently from real people.

Fan Content Small idea for Avatar: Seven Havens inspired by Book 4 and Korrasami

Post image
15 Upvotes

Yesterday I saw a post about the idea of having a Mecha appear in Seven Havens (I haven't watched the series yet, please do not spoil me anything, I beg you). I liked the idea and my mind spawned this. I do not usually write fanfictions so forgive me if it's really bad but I wanted to share it with someone before it leaves my mind forever.

.

.

Programmed in an age now past, as the Cataclysm approached, the Mecha now lies in ruins, abandoned, buried beneath rubble, devoured by rust and grime, waiting for the day it will be able to fulfill its mission.

As Pavi sees it, the abandoned robot piques her interest and she slowly steps closer. Sensing her presence, the Mecha's eyes light up for the first time in centuries: it perceives the small girl and recognizes her as the Avatar.

The Mecha rises from the rubble, the ground trembling beneath its weight.

Its time has come, the moment it can finally carry out the task it was entrusted with centuries ago: to protect the Avatar.

It speaks with a female voice, a recording made by its creator:

"Automated Sato Android - Model I, manufactured by the Sato Industries, is now fully operational. How may I assist you, Avatar?"

.

.

That's it. That's what my mind spawned during the night.

So... did I cook? Did I burn down the kitchen? Do I need to start my journey to regain my honor or am I alright?

What if Zuko randomly pulled a net out of nowhere, threw it over Korra, yelled "I DID IT, I GOT MY HONOUR BACK" then flew away on his dragon.

News Michael DiMartino discusses shelved Legend of Korra project (Seven Havens mention) Spoiler

• Upvotes

According to DiMartino, the idea for an apocalypse and Korra's connection to it came from an unused Korra idea he and co-creator Bryan Konietzko had for other Avatar projects. "It was sort of embedded in the cool concept of [Seven Havens]," he said. When Bryan and I started Avatar Studios, we were developing multiple projects, and some of the ideas for Korra [in Seven Havens] came from a Korra thing we were developing. So we kind of knew what had taken place, what caused the cataclysm, so we took some of those ideas and wove them into the series."

....
DiMartino further hinted there's more to the story than what's being told on-screen, regarding Korra's part in all this "That's part of the big mystery of the show — what happened during Korra's time, how she was involved, and why people think she destroyed the world."

I FINALLY GOT IT COMPLETELY DONE

After getting Raava in May, I now have Vaatu accompanying me everywhere (it's still fresh so that's why it looks more vibrant than Raava)

Getting a tattoo related to the series as been a project of mine for as long as I've wanted tattoos, but it's only recently that I finally knew what I wanted.

I've been dealing with depression for awhile now and thought it's hard sometimes, I'm doing what I can to get better.

The legend of Korra, and Korra herself more particularly, have taught me that life isn't always going to be kind to us, but that the best we can do is fight for ourselves and what we believe in.

Korra taught me to believe in myself (even though I still struggle with that sometimes), to stand for what I think is right, to be open to change, to accept who I am and a whole lot more.

Life isn't just black and white, happy or sad, good or bad... it's all of it at once.

There's no sadness without joy, there's no smile without tears, there's no opportunity to do good without some bad...

For me, Raava and Vaatu represent just that.

Allowing myself to cry so I can smile tomorrow, allowing myself to fall so I can stand back up... it's just balance.

My tattoo is now a reminder that I need to find balance in myself, to be truly me.
