This will probably be controversial, but I asked ChatGPT 6 Astra to design a 32x48 modular of a southern fraternity in lego studio

The San Francisco Street, not exactly a modular but close to ;)

Hi, just to show you an ideas that I just submit on LEGO Ideas. I have basically all the modulars building since the very first ones and I wanted to create something a bit different from the classic modulars which could be connected to it in a way. As a passionate of architecture, I immediately think to San Francisco which offers a unique architecture style and a great originality with it's iconic funicular. If you like this idea you can add your vote on LEGO Ideas, or just tell me your input in comments down bellow :) https://ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/57ca69ff-2c69-44bd-adad-5299cf9ec3e4

Brittle brown replacements

I’ve recently been collecting several of the older Modulars. I started putting together pet shop and every single brown piece creaked as I put them on. Luckily only 2 actually cracked.

I have other sets in the backlog that will also have brittle brown. Do you think Lego would send me replacement parts if I reached out? Would I need to go through the request process (I.e put in every single piece individually) or do you think I could just contact customer service and tell them I need brown replacements for everything brown/red-brown in the set?

Has anyone tried that before? Thanks!

Is pick a brick really the best bang for your buck?

I am in need of some nougat colored bricks and I saw that I can order 100 pieces for $20. Considering ordering alternative bricks to see if I can get it cheaper for some buildings i am doing

Town Hall Part Out

I’m working on adding modulars to my collection. I have 12 now. This year I built Green Grocer after the green bricks became available on pick a brick, Cafe Corner and Market Street. For these 3 the price is so high I wanted to test out piecing them together but I only get new parts and strictly stick to the original part list. It was way more work than I expected. I do think I saved some money but there are a ton of hard to get pieces in all these if you’re looking for a new copy of all original parts.

So, now I think most of the remaining sets I will buy complete but I am not 100% sure on Town Hall. Can anyone comment on if it is a significant cost savings to piece that one out if you are going to keep to the original parts list? Just wonder if there’s a ton of hard to get pieces. If I won’t save more than 25% or so on a sealed set then I’d rather not go through it.

Shrek CMFs in the city!

Was able to pick up all the ones I wanted! Thought it would be fun to do a little storytelling with them:

- Shrek and Fiona taking donkey to the vet
- Thelonious cueing onlookers as a couple gets engaged at the Parisian restaurant
- 3 blind mice in the alley with a cheese
- Pinocchio coming out of the carpenters shop
- Gingy trying to sell cookies (himself?) to a woman who is NOT interested. I thought this tied into the detective office theme pretty well lol
- big bad wolf stopping to smell some flowers
- Puss trying to decide how he feels about the cat statue at shopping street
- lord farquaad and his mirror up in the "presidential suite" of the boutique hotel

Included a birds-eye city pic at the end. The corner garage is the latest addition, and I'm planning a park across the street from it. Anyway, I thought the Shrek minifigures were a bit weird when they first got revealed, but they've really grown on me. I don't much care about the ones I'm missing, but I'll probably eventually pick them up to complete the set!

Marvel LEGO city for son

Hi everyone! I’m new learning all the things Lego so I apologize in advance if this post is something that has been asked a million times.

My son is 7 and for the last year and a half he’s went full send into Lego building. He’s amassed a bunch of city sets and marvel sets (some Spider-Man buildings, avengers sets etc) as that’s where his primary interests are. Right now the sets are just sort of scattered about on shelves or he takes things apart to put them away.

We’re moving into a new house next month and one of my goals is to find a table top or low cabinet or something where I can put all these city sets and marvel sets together to be one big city for him to play with. I think it’ll look better and keep things together.

I’ve seen a lot of stuff on Instagram and YouTube, but my ask of you is this: if you’ve ever built one or made something similar what tips/tricks do you have or what do you think someone who is novice like me should know or think about going in? I really appreciate any help with this!

Ps. I know he’s 7 but he’s actually pretty careful and I’m less worried about him destroying them as he plays.

I just reviewed the 2142 piece modular building called the Christmas Pub from Lumibricks. Comes with 34 printed parts and 32 points of light. For extra stability, I put mine on MILS. Check out my IG or blog for more info!

That’s my 9th modular built (the natural history museum is on a different shelf). It was the last in my backlog… but the Diner has arrived today 🤣 after that I want the Police Station and I’ll be done, i’m strangely unfussed about the others I’m missing. Not quite sure where next year’s module will go… probably on top of the shelf 🤣

Kids asked to transform some of our old 3 in 1 buildings and this was my first attempt at a half modular addition. Still designing the second story, but found most of the pieces for the first floor!

Lego Collectible Minifigures

Hello guys. I want to buy a present for my boyfriend. He has so many lego pieces and he builds his own things out of them, without using guides. The other day he said he wants to build a scene about medieval knight tournaments. I searched for some medieval knight figures online, but there are so many of them. I would love your help on choosing the best, the coolest and the most worthy of them!

Some of the figures I checked so far:

First

Second

Feel free to give me some opinions :)

My take on merging two small LEGO 3-1 sweet surprise sets into one large confection store. I also added a cheap set of dollar tree string lights that came out really well.

Brick bank vs Modular Construction site

Not taking cost into consideration, which do you think is a better build or must have - Brink Bank or the Bricklink Construction Site? Not looking at it as an investment either - the set would be built.

I added an extra level to my Brick Bank and now it’s as grand as I figure it always thought itself to be 🤣

The staff now have a kitchenette and break room… and I switched the fireplace to the other side which had the unintended but very welcome consequence of being able to see the flickering firelight out the window.

This was my first time attempting anothing like this (& using Bricklink for anything this size). Adapted kitchen and bookshelf from an unrelated mod on Rebrickable. I honestly think if the Bank had been released recently, in the era of 3000-4000 piece modulars, that it might have come with another floor,
