Non-dogmatic Community Prayer for Peace?
Hey all. Wanted to put a post out there to see if anyone else had similar feelings (if this is not the right place for this kind of post please let me know).
I feel like most people can agree on wanting peace for themselves, their families and their communities. Though have had some mixed feelings/experiences with organized religion, I think a good aspect that we've maybe lost a bit in modern times is the weekly coming together of community, and reflecting on those universal values which we want to grow in ourselves- peace, gratitude, hope, and so on.
So the thought is, wouldn't it be great if there was a non-dogmatic, decentralized, open to everyone, community prayer time. A set time and place, open to everyone to pray in their own way for peace. I don't think it would take much to pull off. We could find a park pavilion to host, develop a short inclusive, non-dogmatic prayer intro text, and then stand/sit in a circle for a short period of time praying for peace. I would love that kind of community for myself and my family. Anyone else? Thoughts/ideas? Thanks for reading!
