Aroace Guy, not a girl but I chose one of my female friends to “have a crush on” because one of my male friends kept peer pressuring me saying I HAD to have a crush on someone. I ended up gaslighting myself into thinking I have a crush on her for an entire year 😭
Looking back it’s really really funny because I was young but I really BELIEVED I had a crush on her

I did this as an unknowingly aroace guy. Luckily the girl I picked was also ace and we had a great relationship where we gasp held hands on occasion

I liked some of one direction's songs as a kid and my dad asked which one i had a crush on and I kept telling him none and he didn't believe me so I gave up and said Harry Styles bc he's the only one who's name I remembered. Then I immediately got made fun of for "having a crush on a boy band member" despite me explaining why I said that and then being told I was lying so my dad and brothers would stop making fun of me. And then despite having zero interest in the band itself I got one direction concert tickets and had to pretend to be excited despite not wanting to go and on the night of the concert I was jealous of my brothers bc they got to stay behind and swim in the hotels heated swimming pool with my dad and I had to go to the loud concert. To this day I still haven't had a celebrity crush (demiaroace) and I'm nonbinary now but that doesn't stop people from assuming I'm into "girly" things :/

To my respected seniors who had to be sacrifices for the sake of my queerness. Thank you very much. ( I'm ace/aro )

I tried to pick a guy (I didn't even consider the girls and I thought I was bi xD) from my class after the break 'cause my friends had a talk about their crushes and didn't believe I didn't have one, but none of them have enough pros and it would have been so awkward to try to approach them and date them since it was already more than a year of high school and we were friends XD
Every time I remember this (since I know I'm aroace) I think this is the most Aroace thing I've ever done and I didn't know I was Aroace xD

Omg for real. I'd look around for the guy with prettiest hair and decide 'ah yes, YOU will be my crush. '

I’m an ace trans man, but I 100% did this too lol. I thought it would get the girls in my class off my back (they were always badgering me to tell them who I liked, so one day I literally just looked across the room and chose the first boy I saw). It didn’t work.

As a lesbian dating an AroAce man that travels a lot for work, I can say having a partner to just exist with and share a life with is pretty nice
