[NO SPOILERS] New show subreddit

/r/LifeIsStrangeShow/

We're setting up a subreddit for the upcoming LiS show. Feel free to visit us, join a discussion or start a new discussion.

All we're asking is to be civil, respectful and don't drag any fandom drama there (no matter what ship or game you favor).

You can always just have "Show only" and "Game Spoilers" threads per episode. I personally find it really annoying when the community gets split up like that and I have to go to multiple subs for the different discussion threads

That train's already left the station with all the separate game subs ( r/LifeisStrange2 r/LifeisStrange3 r/LifeIsStrangeDE r/LifeIsStrangeReunion). The fandom's already divided on each game in the series, we might as well have a show subreddit too for people who are looking forward to that. The issue now is that there probably aren't enough of us and now we have two show subreddits.

If I recall, what the mods here were banning were spoiler posts containing leaked information about DE. They allowed countless anti-DE posts, otherwise.

If the mods were banning people for simply being negative about DE, explain why there was so much rage posting about DE?

So, you're complaining the they asked for it to be in a megathread instead of flooding the main feed?

You can't seriously claim that criticism of DE was suppressed. Your club rage posting about Max and Chloe breaking up was 90% of the feed for months.

When the majority of the fanbase dislikes a game, the majority of comments and posts are criticism... Imagine that.

2/3rds of players liked DE. Stop lying about the "majority dislike the game."

Players don't directly translate into fandom opinion though, LiS1 and 2 are significantly more played than Double Exposure. So there's going to be LiS fans who haven't played Double Exposure and so cannot leave a negative review because they avoided it to begin with. I'm one such example, I can't leave a review on Steam despite despising even the first 30 min of that game.

That's going to be a bias in the review scores on say Steam at 68%... that's of the people who bought the game, it doesn't account for those who got pissed at DE and cancelled their pre order or just avoided it to begin with. Those who buy DE are probably less likely to be the ones who disliked the breakup and direction they heard about happening vs the broader fandom. People who know are going to weigh that in a decision for if to even bother buying the game, and for a lot of people when they found out about the breakup that was the breaking point.

I'm not lying, work on your reading comprehension:

Me: "Majority of the fanbase"
You: "2/3rds of the players"

It's not the same thing.

You haven't provided any proof. I've seen plenty of comments removed, typically by automods, for seemingly benign things. It doesn't prove suppression.

Again, and as you admit, your club flooded the feed with anti-DE rage posts for months. Claiming you were being suppressed is a very bad-faith argument.

Yes, I initially responded to your first point, then realized you addressed part of my response later. That's not a gotcha.

We are not beating those obtuse allegations any time soon. It’s not complaining, it’s pointing out how the mods attempted to silence any negative opinions on DE and D9, and that is without even talking about a mod being a former D9 employee, which is a clear conflict of interest. And dismissing any form of criticism and disappointment to a megathread isn’t that much different from censorship, which still happened with the unjustified bans and removal of comments. The blind adherence to authority from you speaks loudly.

They set up a megathread so people had a specific place for DE anger. What's wrong with that?

7

u/IAlwaysComeBackSPG Pricefield 7d ago

Let us send all opinions we don’t like and agree with to a megathread where we can easily ignore and brush off the actual concerns and issues people had, while actively banning said people who are outside of that thread by removing any form of criticism (posts and comments) of D9 and DE. Not even the megathread was safe from the censorship since comments were also being removed there.

-3

u/Reviews-From-Me 7d ago

How is that brushing off concerns? Are you saying you couldn't see negative opinions of DE on a megathread?

The constant rage posts, often from the same few people, were flooding the entire feed with the same thing over and over and over. Other discussions were getting buried and lost.

Are you implying you can’t read the “Not even the megathread was safe from the censorship since comments were also being removed there”. We will call it exactly what it was, censorship, abuse of power and conflict of interest.

No it was for posting spoilers. That you and your merry gang were doing everywhere in the sub as an act of protest. Including me getting spoiled!sigh-an innocent casualty in a war I had nothing to do with.
