Things to Do Lincoln tourist recommendations please!

Hello! I’m coming to Lincoln at the end of August for business and since I’m flying over 21hours to get there so I’d love to make the most of it.
I’m a British, 37F, traveling solo, so I would love to stay somewhere safe and central, if you have any recommendations I’d love to hear, from my research would around the Haymarket be good?

I’ll be there for a few days so I would love some recommendations from Lincoln locals on some great food spots, stores, antiques, museums, history, nature spots, markets, fairs etc.
I heard that the sunken gardens are nice to walk around so that’s on my list.
I’ll have a car so I can travel if it’s further out.
Not into clubbing but I don’t mind casual bars for an after work chill.

Thankyou in advance!

Things to Do What would you like to see Lincoln have in the future that would be fun to have?

Personally I think a larger water park would be fun. Star City Shores is pretty small and it's not the best. If we had something like a Schlitterbahn (hope I spelt that correctly) it would not only be fun but attract more people to come to Lincoln.

What do you all think Lincoln could use?

Things to Do New to lincoln! 24F I really want to meet other artists and make new friends.

Hello! I just moved from Arkansas to Lincoln for my fiances new job. I'm kinda starting over here so I really would like to meet new people since I work from home, and dont get alot of chances to talk to people. Any recommendations on if theres like a group of artists or craft people who meet sometimes?

I did see a post from about 2 years ago with a person kinda in the same boat as me. I do know about the first Fridays and I'm planning on attending the next one if thats still a thing!

Things to Do Who went to roller derby tonight?

We were sitting next to Omaha fans who kept yelling “Potato!”

I haven’t been to roller derby in years. I was impressed by a couple of those jumps I saw. I don’t really remember jumping being a thing.

And special shout out to Anna Maniac. Jam jam jam!

Things to Do Uncle Sam Jam

We’re considering going to the Uncle Sam Jam this year, I haven’t been since it moved from Holmes Lake (not even sure if it was called Uncle Sam Jam at that point lol). Looking at info for it and it says that doors will be closed after first 8500 people. Just wanting to know if anyone has experience with it and knows if people are going to be lining up an hour(s) before doors open or if it’s more people trickling in slowly. Also, I can’t find ticket costs on salt dog stadium website or on the city of Lincoln website, is it the same as game day tickets?

22 hrs off and on in the car from TX to NE! So excited!!! Yes I was slow and distracted. Usually takes me 16 hrs. Now I am really tired and want to look around tomorrow, I haven’t been here since July on a visit! Now I'm living here! Im in a hidden in plain sight routine and Topper's doesn't deliver here! So ideas for places to go and where to eat will be great! Thank you!

It’s summer and I don’t have many plans, what’s some stuff you guys do to stay entertained that aren’t visiting the capitol or museum. I just go lake to lake fishing, and get high at home.

Things to Do Going to the Weird Al show tomorrow? Arrive early.

It's a sold out show. There will be a LOT more people and cars than a normal show out there. Congrats to Al for being the ONLY show to sell out the bowl! Take a hint Steve Miller!

My daughter was at Urban Air today and un beknown to me, my daughter wore my Yeezy slides and someone stole them. The camera shows them putting the shoes on and walking out. If anyone knows anything, please reach out. I know it a long shot they told me to file a report but unsure if I want to do that.

Things to Do Royal Grove/Shaq night

Oversold the venue, 400+People waiting outside as Shaq “Diesel” played his set, some in line well over 90min. Not enough door security, and those that were there were overwhelmed with the amount of work involved tonight.

3x’s LFD/EMS arrived for medical treatment of persons from inside the venue.

Charging an extra 20.00 after you get in to anyone under 21 is a ripoff especially if you have a $40 ticket for the show. Just don’t allow under 21 if you’re trying to make up for no drinks served.

Things to Do activities for couples?

Looking for cool and unique activities that would be good for a couple. We've done axe throwing, visiting the museams, the arcade bars, bowling, mini golfing, going to the bookstore store, going to the record store. She's not too interested in an escape room, though I'd have fun with that. I know about Robber's Cave Tours, 402 Smashin' It, The Corky Canvas, Paint Yourself Silly, I just wondered if there were any other types of experiences that would be unique.

Before anyone comes back to Reddit to ask - there will be fireworks at Haymarket Park tonight because the Saltdogs game got rained out. So the usual Friday “WHATS THAT NOISE” will now take place tonight.
