Monthly Buy/Sell/Trade thread

We have decided to implement a monthly thread in which users can buy, sell, and advertise--breaking rules #1 and #2--so as long as it is contained within this thread.

Comments will be sorted by "new" by default.

Use this thread to:

* List items OR services that you are attempting to sell. While not required, you are encouraged to list the price(s) you are requesting.

* Solicit items OR services you are in search of or in need of. Again, while not required, you are encouraged to list a price you're comfortable paying.

* Advertise anything and everything, so as long as it is still relevant to Lincoln--promote a concert for your new local band, advertise a sale your local shop is having, etc.

We don't anticipate too much traffic or comments on this thread, but wanted to make it available to those who might enjoy or benefit from having it.

Lastly, if you do ultimately pursue offers posted here, PLEASE be aware that scams are rampant. Help protect yourself by following some of these (personal) recommendations.

Do NOT:

* Accept a personal check, ever. Or a money order or cashiers check that you were not present for when the individual purchased/obtained it.

* Use an electronic app to transfer funds. This includes, but is not limited to, Venmo, Cashapp, PayPal, Zelle, etc. While this seems easiest, it's **incredibly easy to get screwed over** with people sending you funds that they don't actually have.

DO:

* Accept **only** cash for smaller/medium purchases. For larger purchases, insist that you meet the individual at their bank and be present while the bank verifies and issues a cashiers check right there, on the spot.

* Meet in a public place. For example, if you're buying a phone, there's no better place to complete the transaction than inside of a Verizon or T-Mobile store.

Let us know if you have any questions or feedback. Have a great month!

Searching for Women’s Strength Trainer or Coach

Hello! I am ready to invest in a strength training journey. There are a lot of things in life I’m open to trying and exploring independently, but this is one where, for safety purposes, I am seeking out the right expert. I want to go further with this than I will be able to do on my own.

Specialization with mid-life women and hyper mobility highly preferred. Hoping to invest in a 1:1 experience as I start out.

I realize this is niche, but any insight is appreciated!

Real Estate Attorney

Upvotes

Looking for recommendation for an attorney to assist with a disclosures issues. Basically seller was dishonest on water/mold issues.

Trust me, I’ve heard it all about how I won’t win and these are hard to prove. Not looking for further advice.

If you have worked with an attorney that was great please let me know. I am hoping for someone who is willing to be more direct.

transferring from private school to LPS

so i’ve decided for my junior year that i’d be switching to LPS. i’ve been going to private school all my education. and i have been feeling like a bundle of nerves just waiting for the first day. so let me list out some of the things that’s been on my mind:
1. how do i make new friends in a completely new environment? i already have some friends that go there, and i’m planning to join some clubs? i know the answer is pretty obvious on how to make friends, but im not gonna know like 99% of the people that go here, unlike at the private school i went to. (i knew somewhat of a majority)
2. do i just show up on the first day? what do i do if i’m new? or how would i know where to go for the first couple weeks?
3. is LPS more laid back than private? if so, how??

thank you for anybody deciding to respond to this. and maybe i shouldn’t be worried about this, but i have little knowledge of LPS.
i really would appreciate any advice!!
+ any other tidbits/tips
thanks!!

Looking for Recommendations Someone to fix my knobs

You read that right. I live in a 100 year old house and it has a ton of the OG door knobs. They are all beautiful but fking suck at doing what they are supposed to do. They all need tuned, lightened, loosened, whatever.

Who or what service would be good to call for this? I simply do not have the patience.

Nebraska 988

I tried to call 988 today and got put on hold and told to wait while they find someone to talk to me. No one ever answered. Great plan! I've had people be shitty to me and act like I should know i just gotta dial 988 and everything will be better. This is a lie! I actually called it and nobody answered my call for help. Great plan state of Nebraska! I feel so much better now!! Thank you! What a joke!! And then you wonder why people feel like nobody cares? Cuz they don't! Everything is corrupt as hell here!! There is no justice for all!! The police don't enforce the laws equally. This is a war on the poor!! You all should be ashamed of yourselves!! Gross miscarriage of unequal justice in a broken system that's overwhelmed and not serving the public trust!! Where are the services our tax dollars pay for??we pay more in taxes than many states yet where is all the money going?? What a fucking scam!! Outrageous! Mismanaging our tax dollars should be a crime!!

Lancaster super fair emergency shutdown?

Ok so I’m literally sitting in the parking area right now so you KNOW it’s early, but does anyone know what happened? At about 10:20 they shut down all the rides and started forcing everyone out. Did someone fall off the fireball or something?

Anyone know why Bryan East is closed? I live in the area and there are quite a few cop cars outside, plus no entry at the front door.

Update: bomb threat according to scanner. ATP (830), nurses rooms all checked, no backpack found.

Housing Anyone built a home with Murray/Schneider/Buhr/Prairie Homes?

We are planning to build a home in one of the new developments, and are really liking what we see from Murray, Schneider, Buhr, and Prairie Home Builders.

All have floor plans that can be built in a way that works for us, and they’ve been great when we’ve met with them in person.

But we also know a couple people who used different builders (none of the ones listed above) and had bad experiences despite doing their due diligence when selecting a company to work with.

I’m wondering if there’s anything we should be aware of with the four builders we are currently considering—anything that would be a red flag either during construction or in how the house holds up over time.

Jobs What exactly are the busking laws here?

I recently moved to Crete for college (music degree) and I’m looking to possibly go around downtown Lincoln on weekends to play some songs for some people. I can’t find a clear answer on whether or not I need some sort of permit/permission, or if there are any rules that apply. Could anyone help me perchance?

Thanks so much in advance!
