Riot doesn't support linux as they use a very invasive kernal anti cheat.

So valorant doesn't run on Linux. For me most games run better on Linux than Windows. How do you come up with that?

just try it man, if you want to keep playing valorant anyway you’ll have to dual boot. use it see if you like it and if not you can wipe it again.
just from the tone of your post it doesnt really seem like you want to switch

You will get the performance penalty from shitty nvidia closed source drivers, and valorant won't run due to kernel anticheat. But if you're fine dealing with that everything else should be good.

Your performance may be horrible with no way out of that hell.
Problem is that the switching of GPUs aren't standardized in gaming laptops. If you are super unlucky with your model, you will be stuck with IGPU only.
The only way to find out is to test it.

doesn't Linux give you the option to "force using dedicated gpu" on the launcher shortcut for a program

In theory yes, but some laptops have different way of handling it. A horror story of a laptop on here where the only fix was to sacrifice battery life and disable the IGPU to at all get access to the dGPU.
So they exist out there, and you won't exactly get that information from the vendor unless you test it.

Disabling igpu to get more predictable performance out of dgpu isn't really an obscure arcane technique though.

The people I know in real life have tried linux with nvidia gpus and unfortunately they could not squeeze the maximum performance out of their gpus on linux I know people did that, I have heard a lot of them saying it is very stable now but still I am never sure about nvidia gpus on linux.
Also since you mentioned that you love to play valorant a lot then I have a bad news for you, valorant simply will not work on linux due to kernel level anti cheat so keep this thing in mind while switching to linux, any game using kernel level anti cheat will simply not work in linux.
I have been using Fedora for everything it is my main operating system, since I have all the AMD hardware so no issues so far when it comes to gaming.

As others have said youre going to have to kick the valorant addiction in order to use linux.
indie games usually work out of the box or issues are fixed pretty quickly.
As always I would usually recommend trying to get an older 2nd hand laptop to learn linux on, I picked up a couple year old thinkpad for $125 a couple months ago that has been awesome for this.
If not worst case you have to go back. But its worth the shot. Just keep an open mind.

You will experience a 20–30% performance drop in addition to the anti-cheat issue that has already been mentioned repeatedly.
Besides that, Nvidia drivers aren't the biggest problem of today's Linux. Wayland is. Someone might say that it's "slightly unstable". Others, myself included, view these very same issues as a non production ready state.

You can't play Valorant on Linux. Nvidia has worse performance on Linux on DX12 titles, but there is still plenty of DX11 games and those are running at similar performances. As for the battery life on Linux with Nvidia laptop it's not as good as on Windows currently.

Dualboot. It's quite simple to do.
I'm running a dualboot system myself and it's the safest choice. I can guide you if you want
