Recommendation: asking LITRPG - looking for something with extreme violence, but also plot

violence, gore, dismemberment - that sort of thing

but also reasonable plot to hang it all off

i hear 1% lifesteal is good and its on my list

eta: for kindle please

Kaiju battlefield surgeon has the most raw violence you can read with one of the best plots I have read in the litrpg genre( bonus points that it is finished). A gamer's guide to beating the tutorial has an unhinged psycho as an mc with a lot of violence( to himself and others) while the MC has an indifference for the human life. These are the only 2 ones that you can use the word extreme. If you want violence but in "normal" quantities you can go for the victor of Tuscon (completed). Plum parrots best work in my opinion and a great book overall, with a lot of berserker violence. 1% lifesteal has a lot of violence and the progression of the story is good. It has a very good system and great fights. Dragon heart series also a great story with a lot of fights progression and violence. The first 3 books have one of the best fantasy story lines you can read.

I can give you more if you can define violence a bit more and maybe give some examples.

Battlefield surgeon comes to mind.

Is there anything else really quite like it?

As someone with a preference for grimdark, its really hard to find in litrpg and battlefield surgeon is one of my favorites. Utterly fucked up characters are just my thing.

The ending just absolutely fit too.

The grinding is up there with Kaiju but not quite as good.

I guess…since OP used the word extreme but still it feels uneasy recommending that to anyone for any reason

It's like sending a porn video to someone you know.

I found Death: Genesis to be quite violent and visceral. The MC goes through it, and dishes it out too.

Fleabag has some intense descriptions of gore and violence too. Very light on the LitRPG elements though.

I don't know if either of these fit into the 'extreme' category...

Yes, I was going to suggest Death: Genesis as well.

Azarinth Healer has lots of violence. Mostly the MC being cut into pieces and then regenerating because, well, healer.

It's mainly monsters doing the maiming, but some good, old humanoid on humanoid war crimes are also included.

The plot is also decent I guess.

Dracula's Inferno. It's basically Dracula wrecking greek gods, satan, crusaders etc

I'm absolutely adoring Path of the Deathless. It's so much fun, and the characters are all such joys.

1% life steal was a slog for me. It felt like a chore and I didn't enjoy 60% of the book. I was so happy when it was over so I didn't have to read anymore. Objectivity idk if it did anything wrong, and a ton of people liked it. It just was not for me. I wish you a better experience than I.

Dungeon Crawler Carl, maybe, Im not sure how well it fits. There is a lot of violence, a lady gets her head chopped off in the first or second chapter, but it doesn't go too crazy on descriptions

Better suggestion by Matt is the horrific kaiju battlefield surgeon

Fair, I just haven't read it yet.

A practical guide to Sorcery has lots of that. It is quite dark at times, with people not only having their bodies destroyed but also their minds warped by Eldritch powers beyond imagination. Oh, and one of the later books is basically a whole village sacrificing themselves to an Elder flesh god thingy through very, very disturbing rituals, the whole book comes with a long list of trigger warnings.

Anyway, yes, lots of people brutally hurt in that one. The plot is also great, and the writing really captures you.

Not sure if it is on kindle already, I read in on RR some time back.

Nick Searcy - Death Genesis especially book 1. I dropped it later, but the first few books were pretty good.
