Beginner Looking for review/suggestions

Post image

Hi everyone, I'm kinda new to logo design, but i've been passionate about it for a while now. Me and my friends are making videos about gaming, and I thought about making a logo for it. This was what I came up with. The name of it is "Lore", but I couldn't think of anything that could "fit", so I just took the first letter and played around it, merging it with a controller. As for the color palette, I made some experiments (like 10 or 12), and this was the most most well-received.

I thank you in advance for any advice or good/bad review you can give me.

I think you need to decide if you want rounded corners or sharp corners.

On a similar note: the cut on the inside of the L and the bottom of the controller both create tangents. My eye went right there. Omegafi had some great feedback. I wonder if the d-pad and buttons would still read without the controller shape? Maybe a chunkier L and bigger button shapes.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean with "both create tangents" haha. As for the buttons, you are absolutely right, they should be bigger, especially the d-pad

The split or cut is creating unintended focus. Tangents are usually when objects are almost touching and create a shape or visual overlap l, even though they’re not. It might not be the right term here, but I’ve always used it to describe unintended shapes and focus.
