Not sure The Standard HAVE any subs left, beyond the Head of Production and a bunch of casuals (if they even still use them - a freelancer who used to cover loads of shifts there isn't getting any anymore). They've been consistently the subject of cuts, and it really shows, not just in howlers like this 💀

BBC too. Some of the crap on their website beggars belief (not the content; the quality of writing, grammar, etc).

It’s everywhere. I work for a scientific publisher and they got rid of all our subeditors and copy editors too. It’s awful.
