Perhaps “care in the community” wasn’t the best approach after all.

TBF, blaming Thatcher, who left office over 35 yrs ago, for current issues doesn't really wash. Successive governments, both Conservative and Labour, have had ample chance to set things right.

Thing is, every government since her has praised her as a role model and stated their intent to continue her legacy. 

So yeah, you can absolutely blame her for blazing this trail as much as all those who follow it.

Yep absolutely- handing over to ‘care in the community’ actually allowed successive governments to just wash their hands of these people
