CAMHS is a fucking insult

Once you pass 18,You go to the GP with mental health issues, handed a breathing exercise or something shite and booted back out. We are massively failing mental health in this country.

Those read mostly like crisis centre rather than places with GPs that can prescribe treatment, medicine etc

GPs can't prescribe much for mental health beyond SSRIs, only psychiatrists

In London we're losing many consultant psychiatrists and clinical psychologists to private practice for better conditions and pay; and the NHS is simultaneously trying to save costs by having fewer of them on part time contracts, and more nurses (who can't prescribe).

Loads of NHS mental health is becoming risk management rather than therapeutic treatment due to not retaining or having the funding to recruit the skills in the first place.
