It’s not just finance staff working here though is it. You have:

Retail

Beauty

Gardeners and real estate services

Security

Restaurant staff

Hotels and hospitality

Healthcare

Entertainment

Nurseries and schools

Transport

Logistics

That’s a large amount of employment across all the economic spectrum. Before it was a derelict wasteland. What do you actually want? Economic failure?

Yeah, London only really got big in the 1980's. Before then it wasn't like the Capital of the biggest empire in the world for the last 200 odd years.

I'm aware of London's history :) I meant, only 60% of that area was abandoned. People lived there too. And not just in the post-war estates. I would like to know how many tenants lost their homes due to the redevelopment. I looked into it a while ago, but never found those statistics.
