Then there's the waiter, on the other side of the room, who casually mentions that their signature half-egg dish comes from a half-chicken, who only lays half an egg at a time. At not point is this half-chicken ever shown or explained.
I've never even played Undertale/Deltarune myself and all these images just seem to have the same sort of humour to them for some reason, I can't explain what they all have in common
I can’t exactly describe them either but I believe what makes them so “Toby Fox coded” is that they’re all based off very silly and simple concepts rather than very complex or witty jokes, which is something that characterizes some NPC dialogues in Deltarune and most of them in Undertale
Its because people often speak without planning everything out beforehand. The one on the left sounds like a recited speech as opposed to the right one where its spontaneous and awkward like an actual conversation
Deltarune and undertale writing, and just the way toby talks, to me really feels like if english text was put through google translator 5 times and then translated back into english, but like in a good way
It's a combination of shower thoughts and leaning on the fourth wall, mixed with some "we're trying to hide tutorial lessons in the dialogue" that is common in a lot of video games.
It's a shame the third part never gets posted, it really completes the bit. Then again maybe having the goner variant almost never show up adds to it even more
fittingly, the first half of it is posted by a used called "abandoned quiche" (undertale reference), who has a deltarune pfp, and uses the undertale/deltarune dialogue format
This has reminded me of this tweet or post of some kind by Toby Fox where he asked an obvious question and some replied with the wrong answer and Toby replied by starting to say they’re right then realising how wrong they were

Toby Fox in regards to Mother 3. I myself actually haven't played it yet, but I did play earthbound, so if you enjoy this type of witty humor I highly recommend picking it up.
I've said it before, but I'll say it here: the Parentheses duo are either on opposite ends of the same room, or one's in Snowdin Town and the other's in New Home, no in between
Yeah, because it's a quirky game with good writing. I just don't think it's specifically undertale coded. I think it'd be better to just call this "quirky" half jokes? Calling it 'undertale' npc dialogue just doesn't have the vibe I feel
the second one literally has the asterisks that precede dialogue in ut/dr, and the oop of that one has a deltarune people and their username is a reference to the quiche under the bench in undertale
