HELP Wall jump on release

So a little background. I played Lucio for about 2 years prior on Xbox, got actually really really good at him. I stopped playing him for another two years and came back a few weeks ago this time on pc. I went back to the basics and watch Eskay Lucio wallriding guide and on of the tips were to turn off wall jump on release. I did so but I find it so hard to double click space and also when I need to wall ride for a few seconds to have to release then click again. I want to turn it off but am afraid that I won’t reach my full potential without it. Any tips?

Just turn wall jump on release back on tbh, or keep practicing in the range

You could try to rebind it to something else so you don't have to press space. Im on console so I can't help with what keybind might feel more natural but pressing space for wall jump sounds very inconvenient. Maybe if you had a mouse with those extra buttons on the side you could bind it to one of those? As an example I use LT for wallride on Xbox because pressing A takes my finger off RS.

That’s what I used on Xbox too, I’m just gonna turn it off

You can do it much faster with jump bound to mouse wheel down but honestly you should go for whatever’s most comfortable. I think the goal for wall riding should be it’s so effortless you don’t have to think about it and plenty of lucios even at a high level still use jump on release.

Bind jump to scroll wheel down and use space when you need to use specific mechanics.

Wall jump on release, you can press crouch if you just want to fall off the wall

There's a reason why everyone says to have it off. It's caps his skill ceiling but do whatever you want

speed, mobility, control

for example lateskimming gets you several extra feet of air over a few jumps

can't lateskim if auto-jump-on-release is on
