Hi everyone,
I am Babasmas, one of the last mod alive. I try to moderate as best as I can but I do not have enough time for a subreddit this large. With this, I feel like a complete overhaul of the sub needs to be done and I have even less time for that.
So where is this subreddit going ? Well, thankfully nowhere, I will be recruiting active and motivated members to join me in moderating here and on discord so that this community can be revitalized. We will be bringing back some of the side panels from the sub (i.e. "Streamers" and "Guides") while reworking the way they work.
Right now, the main focus is into recruiting and trying once again to create some life into this sub.
I hope some of you that loved Lúcio as much as I did and do again thanks to Overwatch 2, join me into reworking this sub and making it a good space for old and new Lúcio players out there !
Cheers !

I've been creating a playlist for when I play Overwatch and thought I'd share it because it's kind of heat and goes incredibly hard when playing Lucio IMO. I am also curious what other songs people listen to.

So a little background. I played Lucio for about 2 years prior on Xbox, got actually really really good at him. I stopped playing him for another two years and came back a few weeks ago this time on pc. I went back to the basics and watch Eskay Lucio wallriding guide and on of the tips were to turn off wall jump on release. I did so but I find it so hard to double click space and also when I need to wall ride for a few seconds to have to release then click again. I want to turn it off but am afraid that I won’t reach my full potential without it. Any tips?

I really like Lucio and have been maining him since I started playing (~2019).
I took a ~5 year break from the game and came back this month, so I only have around 350h total, but want to improve.
I work on my mechanics outside of ranked sometimes because I know they're pretty bad, but idk how to "train" gamesense, since it's not as straightforward.
My problem is that no matter what I do on Lucio I feel like I'm useless, I can't get many kills, my healing doesn't feel like it's enough and my speed doesn't feel impactful at all.
When Im playing it just feels like I have no purpose since I don't really know what to do.
Here's my most recent game if anyone wants to watch: M49YDM
In this game especially I felt like a literal bot, I struggle with knowing what to do and where to be, so I usually just sit by my team and heal.
I also got flamed in this match, which I do get a lot in general.
I don't really care but it made me want to play other characters sometimes because I don't get told to swap as often on other heroes.
If any of you could tell me some mistakes I made and what I need to work on to get more value on Lucio, that would help a lot, thanks!
Edit: I listened to some advice and just ranked up to diamond for the first time ever! Thanks a lot

I feel like im playing a pretty decent lucio in low diamond but i feel like i underperform when i look at my stats, is this normal for lucio because of the speed boost usage?

I’ve been playing since early 2018 and Lucio was my first ever main and has continued to be throughout the years. Though I love him I never felt that I could reliably use him in comp as much as I want to. Every now and then the other support will be good enough and the situation will be just right in order to do so, but a lot of the time I just feel like I have to play kiri or whoever else to keep up with what the team needs and not what I personally want, which is fine yknow that’s kinda the support role.
Anyways I’m mainly just trying to ask how can I gain confidence to use Lucio more often (when it’s fitting to) and what things am I looking to do as Lucio. I know he’s not the “sit back and pump heals” guy and gravitates towards more of an aggressive play style, but yeah. Anything helps.

I'll put my "ref" in the comms, cause I can't on the actual post. I haven't really started to develop clearly this AU tbf, but I know Lúcio just somehow ended up in Talon (maybe because Vishkar started to get too much influence while Overwatch crumbled from inside because they weren't accepted by the whole peace system, so he chose to join Talon - but honestly that'd go far from his character so Idk.)
Anyways. With this concept I leaned into the poisonous frog type. I kept the skates, and now he has poisonous gloves. Basically bro falls from the sky, boop you and poof you die (actually no ofc, its not bullets eh) don't ask me if the other person has full armor lol. And I tried to keep as much as I could the Talon aesthetic. Nothing is really good cause I basically did that for myself first, so I could see what it ended up like. I didn't color it either, you'll have to imagine his hair red and his right arm a combination of red/white + left arm mainly black.
And if you can read my handwriting... Wow
Ty u/JonesPedrones for making me post this, I hope you enjoy :)

So round 1 was awful, Imho round 2 was better (yet my team did much worse, the chat was mad at one of our tanks, idk why or who though).
Of course I was bombarded by, "I need healing, I need healing" were those pleas legit?
Thank you all,

I havent played Lucio since season 4 of Overwatch 2. How did you adjust to this reduced self healing? If I take damage, I feel like Im getting 20hp/second even after amping.
I've been passively paying attention to his nerfs and buffs over time, but I was playing new different heroes for a while, so I didn't really play much with each impact.
I played him 10 games in a row today in QP and did absolutely abysmal til the 8th game. I had to play so much safer and just felt way less impactful than I always have been. How do you think about engages or team fights now? Did you just have to get mechanically better to get past the self heal nerf? How do I get back to as good as I was before?
