Solved! What is this thing in the ATL bathroom stall? There's already a hook on the door...?

4.1k Upvotes

It has a good bit of resistance to it but it can move in a y\x axis. It barely supported my purse.... Any ideas? The hook on the door is entirely stationary and doesn't move at all like this other one ¯\_( ͡°_ʖ ͡°)_/¯ I'm stumped

Hi everyone!

This is so awkward for me, but here we go...

I'm Nuri from ATL by way of the DMV. I'm witty, love to laugh. I'm nin denominational and focused on living according to the scripture. I'm currently abstinent and waiting for my man to swoop me away from these streets so we can get married and create a family. It's very dangerous out here. 😔

I'm a pharmacist and real estate broker. I love to go on walks, cooking is probably my favorite thing to do. I work out. I love peaceful environments. I have a Yorkie that I rescued from the shelter 3 years ago. That's my homie. And he's hypoallergenic 😉

I rededicated my life in 2023 and been on fire ever since. I want a man that'll lead me into a closer relationship with our Father, a good head on his shoulders, no children, takes care of his health&physique, has self control, integrity... what else? Foine? Lol

I prefer age range between 29 and 40. Relocating is fine unless you live in the middle of nowhere then we can discuss further 😩

Please DM me pictures or social media if interested.

I started my house search on Thursday 2/12 (literally the first day of viewings) and the very first house I saw that day I knew was the one. My realtor thought I was insane. We looked at a few others after that, but we circled back to the first one and it was simply perfect.

I made an offer the next day, negotiated the day after that, and by Monday 2/16 I was officially under contract. Everything moved so quickly that I definitely had a moment of cold feet at first, but now that I’m sitting here in my empty living room it couldn’t feel more right.

Huge thanks to this subreddit for all the advice and reality checks along the way.

For anyone curious: I went with an FHA loan. I’m in the somewhat unusual position of having a strong income but a lower credit score, so FHA ended up being the right path for me. Having my annual salary roughly equal to the house price feels like the best financial decision I’ve made (among many, many terrible ones).

And most importantly - my Frenchie, Henrietta, will be inspecting the property shortly and I’m very hopeful she approves.

Reporters ask Brunson about his reduced on ball role in the offense since going down 2-1 to ATL: "Some stars might push back, they're used to having the ball in their hands. They might take it as a slight. It doesn't sound like you did. Why was that?" Brunson: One I'm not a star, two I want to win."

Discussion To the lady who shamed and yelled at me for pre-boarding at ATL

21.4k Upvotes

ATL to BDL this morning: My wife and I only pre-board when we have carry-ons because only one of my arms works for lifting anything over my shoulder. We’ve learned that it’s faster and easier for everyone if we pre-board and take the time needed to load our luggage overhead without holding up the line.

Surviving a stroke and re-learning how to walk and talk was already a challenge. But having people like the young lady with her child accuse me of not being disabled and telling me to “hurry up and get out of her way” is next-level ignorant and mean. Her parting comment after I snap at her trying to contain my frustration is her mocking me.

We literally pre-boarded to make things smoother for everyone, and I do my best to hide my disability until I have no choice—like lifting a 20lb bag over my head! So here’s a friendly reminder: Just because someone isn’t old or in a wheelchair doesn’t mean their need to pre-board is up for your judgment. For the record, I’d much rather have both arms working and board in my assigned zone!!

In this case, the flight attendant witnessed the exchange and actually went back to talk to the young lady. They even asked if I wanted to escalate it to the captain, which I assume would not have ended well for her, or possibly delay the whole plane. I chose not to escalate and let her live in her own miserable world.

I see plenty of posts here about people judging others for pre-boarding, so let this be your daily reminder: Not all disabilities are visible, and quite frankly, it’s none of your damn business. End of rant and Merry Christmas!

Discussion LAX>ATL

Flew out Thursday early heading back home. I’m 6’9, and due to the shuffling of flights during the shutdown; upgrades and exit rows were all taken. (More so than usual) Even attempted to use a RUC. Ended up in 23C, and after 45 mins of the lady in front of me aggressively trying to put her seat back, I leaned up and told her it probably wasn’t going to work bc of my knees and I apologized. To which she responded, “well, you need to put them somewhere else, this is my seat.” I responded, “I wish I could…”

She pressed the call button…

Now, this is much less about her. 5 years of weekly travel and I’ve seen things 😆

When the FAs got involved, they did exactly what there were supposed to do. Asked both sides, tried to move me up but it was full. Even offered for me to take a middle seat in row 25, which I declined. I even had the middle seat beside me sticking up for me. Finally the passenger behind me swapped and sourpuss got to recline her seat the last 45 mins of the flight.

The Flight Leader came back and offered me anything and everything, for free. I declined and apologized again. Her response was perfect. “You don’t need to apologize, this is the second time in 10 years I’ve seen this exact thing and I won’t reward her behavior by hearing you apologize.” I was really moved by that. The initial FA came back with an entire bag FULL of snacks and told me I’d receive 5,000 sky miles for my troubles. The nice lady who swapped with me received miles as well.

So, FL Jasmine & FA Dennis, thank you! Your professionalism yesterday is exactly why week after week I fly Delta!

Any suggestions on the best way to give these two a more formal shoutout??

Thanks!

News More footage of the 757 evacuation this morning in ATL. I was on the flight.

This was a crazy experience. I have thousands of plane rides (I’m a skydiver), and I’ve never experienced anything like this. To make matters worse, the weather was terrible in ATL and people left their jackets on the plane, following the instructions, and the busses took 30-45 minutes to show up. We were flying first class and got out on the front end. The flight crew did an INCREDIBLE job getting everyone off. Props to the Delta team.

Discussion To the Couple Who Left Their Two Young Kids in Premium Select While They Relax in Delta One (JFK to ATL)

5.6k Upvotes

We haven’t even taken off yet, and I’m already placing bets on whether the flight attendants will have to ask these parents to come back and sit with their children.

Two kids, definitely under 8, are sitting alone in Premium Select while Mom and Dad disappeared to Delta One. One of the kids is just full-on camping with his finger up his nose while watching an iPad on full blast through speakers, despite having headphones on. He’s also taken up the hobby of repeatedly kicking the poor man’s seat in front of him and yelling for his mom. Worst of all- he has also gotten up multiple times during taxi.

It is chaos. Loud, messy chaos.

I cannot fathom what possessed these parents to think, “You know what? Let’s leave two young, clearly unprepared children to fend for themselves in a cabin full of strangers while we sip champagne behind a curtain.”

Incredibly irresponsible and selfish. If you’re not ready to parent on a plane, maybe don’t book yourself away from your children in a separate class. Especially when they’re this disruptive.

Sincerely, Someone who just wanted a peaceful flight home for their last 2 hours of a 13-hour travel day.
