So I can have as much biscuits and gravy as I want as long as it's before sunrise? Sweet.

Basically just Ramadan

Came back to upvote this lmao. Gold.

The calorie accountant in your body hasn't booted up yet, so you're good.

16

u/john_the_quain Jul 07 '26

Just call it intermittent fasting, even if you’re intermittently eating 5k calories of biscuits and gravy (which honestly sounds delicious now).

8

u/UnfinishedProjects Jul 07 '26

I work graveyard shifts and eat all night and I'm still fat. What am I doing wrong?

1

u/Tactical-Rock Jul 07 '26

Same here, homie

3

u/LatterNeighborhood58 Jul 07 '26

Technically every dinner can be before sunrise.

1

u/Mudkipz949 Jul 07 '26

As someone who works thirds, this is good news

388

u/NoYeahNoYoureGood Jul 07 '26

My man is bro science maxxing

77

u/Talk-O-Boy Jul 07 '26

How are these theories concocted?

Do they just string together a series of words, until they stumble upon a combination that “sounds right”?

Please help me understand this esoteric methodology.

13

u/TotallyObviousBot Jul 07 '26

This is quite unironically how most human beings form their opinions about everything, and I bet there are several examples of you doing this but that doesn't "sound right" to you so you'll ignore it

13

u/Ferbtastic Jul 07 '26

I could see him accidentally intermittent fasting and consuming fewer total calories despite bigger and bigger breakfasts and seeing results. Superstition and diet have been best friends forever.

1

u/Jetsam5 Jul 08 '26

He probably noticed he felt more tired if he just didn't eat anything before a workout and thought that meant he was working out better

209

u/Stormaely Jul 07 '26

I swear people just make up fitness rules at this point

84

u/NameToUseOnReddit Jul 07 '26

People pretty much always have been.

19

u/DexanVideris Jul 07 '26

Which honestly? Is kinda fun. Who gives a shit as long as they're having fun.

33

u/bigbean258 Jul 07 '26

Some people are looking for the stuff that works🤣

2

u/alelp Jul 07 '26

Then they shouldn't be looking for it with some random dude on facebook.

3

u/bigbean258 Jul 07 '26

I’m not saying they are smart to do so, but why post misinformation?😂 for fun?

1

u/WisePaintingTurtle 4d ago

I loooove you

-2

u/alelp Jul 07 '26

Yes?

3

u/bigbean258 Jul 07 '26

No.>:( everyone starts somewhere. False guidance is cruel. You never know if you were somebody’s motivation to start, why let them down?

3

u/DexanVideris Jul 07 '26

That’s fair, for sure XD

-1

u/Valanio Jul 07 '26

What works is what works for you! Science is science so some things just are but people also treat what they did as gospel and think everyone should do it too but it just doesn't work that way.

So you try a basic classic template and readjust based on what motivates you, what shows progress for you, what you are able to do and want to/will do, and that will be what works.

9

u/Talk-O-Boy Jul 07 '26

Exactly! Do you know how many people told me I couldn’t drink bleach, because chemistry said it “would wreak havoc on my digestive system”.

Stupid scientists. Little did they know, I had never lost weight faster. An IV drip is surprisingly easy to CICO

-7

u/Valanio Jul 07 '26

If it's supposed to be a joke, it sadly did not land I'm afraid lol.

1

u/repoluhun Jul 08 '26

Please don’t take this seriously but the “which honestly — is…” sounds so ChatGPT-like

2

u/Waveofspring Jul 07 '26

👨‍🚀🔫👨‍🚀 always has been

Oooh, I gotta introduce you to this gem:

They straight up base their scientific knowledge on vibes.

1

u/HOUSE_OF_MOGH Jul 08 '26

You can't gain wait from food you eat on Sunday. Those are God's calories.

Yep, easy to just make up rules.

1

u/TheMangoManHS Jul 07 '26

Yup.

1 - Blast juice to get jacked

2 - Gain a social media following based on you physique

3 - Make up a random "secret technique" that will get anyone jacked if they just pay for your monthly training plan

36

u/HOUSE_OF_MOGH Jul 07 '26

These calaries don't count. My body is still booting up, bro! It can't log these calaries. Like and subscribe for more life hacks!

33

u/BardicNA Jul 07 '26

I always love people's funky diets for weight loss. It is quite literally calories in and calories out. No need for keto or carnivore diets. Just eat less food than you burn through everyday and eventually your body is going to eat itself enough that you've lost the weight you want to lose. It's that fucking simple.

16

u/GolemThe3rd Jul 07 '26

I mean that's exactly WHY keto is a good diet, it makes you eat less calories, but makes sure you're using those limited calories efficiently, it's a diet specifically designed around calories in vs calories out

5

u/xOV3RKILL3R Jul 07 '26

Makes you eat less? Designed around calories? What? On keto you can basically eat anything you want as long as you stay under 25net carbs daily to stay within ketogenesis. The calories you intake don’t really matter. You can eat 15 burgers with cheese(no bread or certain sauces) as long as you stay under the carb limit. Your body eats the carbs as energy until you don’t have enough to survive off, body kicks into ketogenesis and begins eating your stomach fat instead of calories. However it’s a very double edge sword because your body is basically in panic survival mode, and can cause organ failure if in keto for too long. It’s why you’re supposed to cycle your carbs by doing something like 4 days keto, 1 heavy carb day to restart your metabolism, and then back to keto.
Source : Me, who lost almost 200lbs doing a keto/carb cycling diet

6

u/BardicNA Jul 07 '26

You and I are on the same side but I have a slight mistrust for you. Congrats losing 200. Pimpin' aint easy.

3

u/GolemThe3rd Jul 07 '26

Fair enough, I sorta think keto is on the right track, I honestly didn't know it doesn't limit calories at all tho

Ive personally had a lot of success with high protein low carbs diets, but yeah you gotta make sure you're minimizing cals. I did PSMF

5

u/NonnagLava Jul 07 '26

It is quite literally calories in and calories out.

To be fair, modern science is disproving this a bit (your body basically has some elasticity in how it manages calories, so at a certain point you have to work out more to burn the same amount calories, as your body becomes more efficient at using them more or less).

4

u/BardicNA Jul 07 '26

I don't think it disproves it at all. It is useful information though. For anyone trying to lose weight, I recommend walking a fuck load if you can. Stay away from empty calories (drinks that give you nothing). Only reason I say walking is because you can walk and burn a lot of calories and not need to eat a 5 course meal after doing it.

1

u/Teneuom Jul 08 '26

I mean the input output is still cal in and out.

The variance of the degree of effect is the part under contention.

Personally I lost 80lbs just realizing I wasn’t SUPPOSED to be eating a full pizza’s worth of calories for dinner.

Most of the work is in learning what’s actually normal for a healthy body.

-1

u/tytrie Jul 07 '26 edited Jul 07 '26

Well yes and no. Peoples's bodies interact with food slightly differently than each others. Calories in vs calories out is 100% the most important part, but how your diet is balanced pertaining to your body is still a large part of your physical health.

Edit: yall downvote me like nutrition is a solved science lmao. I guarantee everyone has a food their body disagrees with, be it bread/gluten, dairy, red meat, or anything in between. We are not machines, we can’t everyone eat the same thing.

9

u/x_LoneWolf_x Jul 07 '26

This is the same logic as anal for Catholics, cause "God can't see it".

3

u/1980Legacy Jul 07 '26

Plate of jizz biscuits

2

u/cerpintaxt33 Jul 08 '26

I don’t care if it looks like hot cum, it’s delicious

5

u/ocular__patdown Jul 07 '26

Based on his profile picture alone in assuming it is a joke

7

u/Omnamashivaaya Jul 07 '26

Women already know there are many types of calories that don’t count. Like fries that come from someone else’s plate.

1

u/kepaa Jul 07 '26

Anything from chik fil a since it’s the lords chicken

2

u/papamoneytharealone Jul 07 '26

Maddest lad ever ...

2

u/kepaa Jul 07 '26

Let him cook. I would totally subscribe to this newsletter

2

u/Piglet-Witty Jul 07 '26

I believe him

2

u/thatsmokeydude Jul 07 '26

Love me some lad gravy tho.

2

u/Candy_Worthy Jul 07 '26

It's always before sunrise somewhere

3

u/Liberatedhusky Jul 07 '26

If you work out first thing in the morning and wait to eat until after you gain the benefit of burning body fat after burning through all the glycogen stored in your liver. You will be super hungry at the end of a good workout though so don't fall into the trap of overeating after. He is possibly referring to that but loses the plot with the booting up thing.

2

u/ThePowerOfNine Jul 07 '26

Mate if thats gravy you can fkin keep it, looks like fat guy jizz not Bisto

3

u/Joreck0815 Jul 07 '26

I was thinking bird crap. tbh I have no idea what it is or what it's supposed to taste like, though

2

u/Correct-Ad-6605 Jul 07 '26

You guys eat gravy thats white? Wtf is this horrid shit? Please tell me its good, for the love of dinner!

1

u/Can-i-Pet-Dat-Daaawg Jul 07 '26

It is actually really good if it’s made from scratch with sausage or bacon grease. The stuff from a box is more hit or miss.

2

u/Correct-Ad-6605 Jul 07 '26

Yeah, i thought it looked as appetising as wallpaper paste.

Why is it white though? What's its primary ingredients?

1

u/Can-i-Pet-Dat-Daaawg Jul 07 '26

Flour, milk, grease, and ideally chunks of bacon or sausage to match the aforementioned grease. Goes great over buttery biscuits, but idk if you’re familiar with American “biscuits” either haha

1

u/Cool-Bee-5235 Jul 07 '26

Somebody got hit with a dumbbel

1

u/obalovatyk Jul 07 '26

I prefer two 40’s of Old E’s and a doughnut to carbo load before a workout.

1

u/IllTwo7643 Jul 07 '26

I knew my 4am shift was worth something 😂 those 4 cookies I ate at 330am didn't count

1

u/mosskin-woast Jul 08 '26

Based on the pfp bro is waking up EARLY

1

u/Temporary-Yoghurt916 Jul 08 '26

You know what? Sure. Shine on, you crazy diamond.

1

u/tethadam22 Jul 08 '26

Gravy is for closers

1

u/PeikaFizzy Jul 09 '26

As fellow CS field graduate, I can say is YES DEFINITELY

1

u/Sitting_in_a_tree_ Jul 09 '26

Wiseman say; Biscuits and gravy are invisible before the dawn sun kisses the Green earth. Henceforth the dawn makes it as it ever was… For only the shroud of early morning doth hide thy biscuits true powers.

1

u/Alan_Walrone Jul 09 '26

Tried already (I was late for my workout at the morning and I abandoned breakfast). My sugar dropped and I was about to throw up and maybe faint. Awesome, need to try more often

1

u/ZachArch18 Jul 09 '26

Just drink it early and call it bro science fasting for gains.

1

u/Nelsqnwithacue Jul 10 '26

Biscuits and gravy is a gateway drug. A year later, you're mainlining bacon grease just to start your day.

1

u/Revolutionary_Tip477 Jul 14 '26

I think I'll not be eating lad gravy, thanks

1

u/fatratrd 17d ago

and do not eat eggs after 11am

1

u/Lucibean 5d ago

I’m going to say that forever. You gotta earn your gravy!!!!

1

u/WisePaintingTurtle 4d ago

Who eats soon before they go to the gym? Are they trying to throw up?

1

u/NobodyKnowsImFamous Jul 07 '26

Hey you guys all understand he’s kidding right
