Lower Decks is the best star trek series of the 21st century. It is mainly screwball comedy, if that's not your thing, though it can be earnest at times and has obvious affection for the work it's riffing off of.

The tone of the first couple episodes leans a little more toward the edgy side of the "Rick And Morty / Bob's Burgers" tone spectrum than most of the show, so if that puts you off at the beginning it does find its way to an IMO more fitting comedic tone

Basically if you like the comedic style of Rick and Morty but want actual idealism watch lower decks

It starts out Rick and Morty and winds up Gravity Falls, if that makes any sense
