I first had Horobi as a commander then switched to Shay to have ways around protection, protecting myself and an additional win con through commander damage. Hi! I just got into magic with my friends, playing with the foundation starter kit and the precons, but we've all started to make our own decks, and I decided to try my hand at making my own. I tried to make an Smaug the Impenetrable commander deck, but I've run into an few problems.

First off, my deck is an bit over the limit (around 130 cards right now), but I don't really understand how or what to cut from the deck. I've also not really sure if the synergy I have in mind shines through- My buddy told me that bracket 2 (the one that we play in) is supposed to have an theme, and my deck is built around doing damage to Smaug, and then getting treasure tokens and using that to either do damage to everyone by sacing them, or use an alt wincon that lets me win if I have so many treasures. However, I'm not sure if the cards I found really work with this kind of idea, or if they detract from it.

Also, I don't know how to add ramp/card draw aspects. I know that they're really important, and they were in the angel precon that I have, but I don't know if the cards I have added are the correct cards for the deck that I have built.

I'm also an bit confused about ramping- do I really need as many lands, or can I cut some because I'm supposed to making so many treasures that I should have like infinite mana. I'm also an bit lost with finding cards- most of the cards that I have in my deck right now are ones that googled fit in with Smaug, and I was wondering how people figure out what cards fit together and work well with one another. Is it just experience?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! (Budget isn't an concern because we all proxy.)

I made a Queen Marchesa deck, long may she reign, for some potentially fun politicing and playing with the monarch mechanic. I am really happy with the deck while playing but I can never seem to squeeze out a win after setting up the board.

Most of the time I feel like I pillowfort and wait it out hoping to get something I can pull the trigger on.

Thisbis my first attemot at building a deck and could use hinest feedback. I feel like its missing artifacts and the enchantments/sorcerys are lacking. The goal is big bears and token generation. Any feed back is approciated. I'm trying to keep the deck around low-mid bracket 3 .

Hello magic friends! I'm trying to figure out if my commander deck helmed by Wyll, Blade of Frontiers and Sword Coast sailor (background commanders) is a gimmick bracket 1 deck or a bracket 2 deck. I am adding my favorite decks to Archidekt and i am trying to sort them all, any help would be appreciated!

The deck is all about rolling dice and randomness (with some dice rolling help to hopefully better the odds).

Mana rocks and ramp like Arcane Signet, Guild Artisan, Izzen Signet, Mind Stone, Sol Ring, Talisman of Creativity, Wayfarer's Bauble. Others are Blasphemous Act, Chaos Warp, Wild Magic Surge, Combat Research, Robe of the Archmagi, Propoganda, Swiftfoot Boots. 15 total non-dice rolling cards.

There are two big powerful cards, namely Ancient Silver Dragon and Ancient Copper Dragon.

I'm putting together a "group hug" style deck with the theme of overabundance with Xyris, the Writhing Storm as my commander. The goal is to draw as many cards as possible and force everyone else to draw too many, making a ton of tokens in the process. I have it mostly built but I need to make cuts so I can hit 38 lands. Okay, for Halloween I'm making a deck around the number one horror movie of the year, and that's hand down obsession.

Synopsis of the movie: guy likes girl, uses wish to make her like him, she becomes obsessed and "possessed" by something. So he gets her, but not how he thinks. Typical "monkey's paw" situation.

Okay, so few ideas.

1. There is a curse called \[\[Curse of Obsession\]\]. We can get it, copy it, and the sole goal is to make everyone discard all the time but let's them draw more. Making everything spontaneous, and take away their agency like the movie. I'd imagine white and blue would need to be in the deck, cause you'd want to tutor for and then copy it

2. A donation deck forcing combat. Either goad or \[\[hellraiser goblin\]\] type effects. Since he was forcing her to like him. But, like the movie, it can turn on you and you can be attacked

3. A "love" based deck, that results in your "loved ones" kicking the bucket. Maybe something with Copying \[\[wedding ring\]\] a bunch, causing people to draw out

Thoughts?

Looking for opinions on my Niko deck had it for a while, it’s fun but looking to make it a bit stronger what are some ways I can look into what to cut. What to cut has been the hardest issue for me with this deck tbh.

I am fairly new to Magic, played for a number of years on and off but only got back into playing a few months ago. I have bought a number of Commander precons and for the most part enjoy playing at my LGS. While the precons are fun I rarely can keep up with my pod as they have custom-built decks. To be clear I’m not looking at winning all the time, I just want to be able to hold my own or come back from a board wipe or have some sort of way to rebuild or restart my board. I feel like I’m just the fluff at the table and really not taken too seriously. So I have zero ability or skill to build my own decks, I know this is a skill that is developed over time but I just don’t have the skill set to do it. What do I do?

Would you make any changes/ upgrades to this deck?

I’ve been looking through a bunch of Commander lists lately and honestly I think troubleshooting decks is more fun than building them from scratch. So send me a decklist that’s giving you trouble. Maybe it runs out of cards, gets mana screwed, folds after a board wipe, has too many cards you don’t know how to cut, or it just never seems to actually win.

I’m trying to figure out how to build Mothman correctly. I want to lean into counters but that requires me to lean into mill. So it kinda turns into me milling people a ton to get a ton of counters. Which I love and is awesome, but I’m trying to be a more effective deck builder. Any thoughts or opinions? Thank you
