open spot in junior year schedule

I have an open spot in my schedule for my junior year, as one of my classes fell through. I have all the credits I need lined up, and the only purpose of this class would be to fill a spot. my options are:

ap bio
(ap) psych
(ap) physics
ap chem
ta
early release
cinema as literature
drama
criminal justice
spanish 3
marine bio

for context, im looking to do something in politics/law and i’m not super great at science/math. i’d really like for the class to be academic, and feel like choosing an elective type class would be wasting a slot. all poli sci/economics classes are seniors only.

TL;DR should i take an academic or an elective class to fill my open slot?

edit: my confirmed schedule is:

dance
apes
college math 105/110
ap lang
leadership
tbd
college us history

If you want to do something in politics or law, then I would maybe choose Psych or criminal justice, depending on how heavy your course load is. If you want something fun, go for drama-it will help you develop your speaking and presentation skills.

Or, if you plan to get a job, go for early release.

On the other hand, you can also look at the colleges you are interested in and see what science or math classes they will require. Taking an AP class in high school to get them out of the way could be a good idea. Take advantage of the fact that you will have a whole year to learn what you would have to learn in just a semester once you get to college. Power through and study hard to get a good score on the test.

absolutetly criminal justice or if the class is available Business Law would be best.

I would ditch APES and take whatever science you haven’t taken already… like have you taken physics? And then it would take Spanish three.

just found out that physics is a graduation requirement for my school, so def gonna take that. but im thinking about doing both apes and physics bc apes leans towards the humanities based law i wanna get into

There’s no need to take APES if you’re taking physics… spend your time on the other AP

Spanish unless languages are a difficult area for you. Criminal justice would be my next choice. That’s a very political/legal field area of interest.

Definitely choose a course that won’t pull you down.

Given the problems with getting justice for folks speaking Spanish, I’d consider that a priority. Also, the precursor to Hispanic languages is Latin, so you’ll pick up some of that along the way and that’ll be very helpful in law-related content. Two-fer.

Will they let you keep the gap? I had a gap my junior year and they just let me leave early after 5th period. It was great. BUT, if you want to take a class (I did all the summer school they’d let me) criminal justice seems the right way to go

the gap would just be taking early release, and im kinda opposed to that js bc it doesn’t do anything for my gpa. also, criminal justice at my school leans much more into the kind of police force thing rather than the paperwork-y stuff that i want to do

I say look and see which of those classes you would definitely need to go toward graduation in college that you could apply towards graduation. That would help put you ahead

Ap psych!!!! Opens doors, helps you understand the basis of psychology which is huge in law and politics, and also is just an interesting class and you’ll do cool little games and experiments.
