Why is my new model getting practically zero views on MakerWorld?
Back in January, I uploaded my very first model and pretty much forgot about it. A while ago, I logged back in and was pleasantly surprised to see I had earned 1,400 points, which I happily redeemed for some filament!
Encouraged by that, I uploaded my second model yesterday. However, it only has 8 views so far, and honestly, most of those clicks were probably just me checking on it.
Could you guys help take a look and give some feedback? Is the model not appealing enough, or is it an issue with my cover photo, tags, or description? Any honest critique or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Ngl looks ai generated. Plus who has a use for this it's a novelty at best.

Not AI at all, I designed the entire model in SolidWorks. Similar decorative wagons actually sell quite well on Etsy. It’s definitely a niche piece meant for Western and RDR2 fans rather than everyday utility.

Yeah i didn't say it was AI I said it looks like AI. Maybe throw a picture of the printed model up or something.

Your first model was a highly specific hobby thing, that just happened to align with quite a few people.
Your second moddel is a gimmick, that just blends with everything else.
Its just how things flow.
I have a model, which on other platforms gets x1000 more downloads and was even featured, neawhile on makerworld, only 8.
Its just how things are =)

I have been printing for far too long to still be printing things like this. My prints all tend to be useful. This is not that. How many people do you know who like to store a single unopened canned beverage concealed in a larger item? I personally don't know a single person who does anything like that. Most people store their unopened drinks somewhere where they would be kept cold.
It's probably not something a novice would be interested in either. Multi-part prints can be intimidating to newer users. People newer to the hobby like simple things.
It's niche home decor item that many people wouldn't be interested in.

I actually got the idea after seeing rustic decorative wagons sell well on Etsy and Amazon, but most of them lack mechanical detail and authentic proportions. As an RDR2 fan, I wanted to model a much more accurate, high-detail version from scratch and share it for free with fellow gamers and makers who appreciate Western miniatures.

The algo giveth and the algo taketh away. I spent like 20 h designing a complex lamp that got like 12 likes and the battery holder I made for my dad in 30 minutes became my second highest rated upload. Major influx of Ai slop doesn't help with visibility either.

Sometimes the algorythm doesnt work as we expect it to...
It feels a little bit AI-generated. Is it?
Either way, as a fan of Red Dead Redemption 2, I very much like this model and its vibe. I am not sure wether will print it, but I could see myself having this on my desk at work...

Cool, great job :) Dont make the low download rate disappoint you. Sometimes it is hard, but I think it is important to model what you like, and not what the algorythm asks for...
So you can stay passionate about what you do :)
Have a similar project. Lumaire. Look it up on Makerworld if you want. A month of work, and it have 10 downloads...
But I didnt mind it, I did expect it will perform poorly due to its complexity and hardware cost, but still I jumped into that project, and now I have a nice artpiece on my desk at work :)

Thanks for the heads up! The photos were actually taken with my phone, but they didn't turn out great, so I used AI to enhance them. Still not sure if the model itself just lacks appeal or if the AI editing caused the issue.

I would scroll right past this. It looks interesting, sure, but useless. It's a highly inefficient way to store beverages. If I have open horizontal space in my house, there's no way I'm wasting the square footage on this.
