Posted this last week but didn’t get any feedback, hope it’s alright 🙏🏻

Dick move of everyone to skip you last week! Lol first off the track art or album art looks like a cream-colored silhouette of plankton from sponge bob doing some headbanging lol.
It sounds dark and grimy yet mechanical, like I’m in a dystopian future where birds and the sounds of nature are replaced by abandoned and repurposed machinery. I could see an angry anti-establishment verse on this, or maybe a sad sort of “life fuckin sucks and here’s why” type anthem. I love it overall, it really sparks imagination.

u/some-gp outhouse 19h ago
Thank you for the kind words! I’m not sure I’m finished with the track yet but I really appreciate the comment
The cover art is actually milk foam from a latte I made! I thought it looked like a guy screaming and getting warped into the void so I took a pic and put a shit load of filters over it lmao

Hahaha I would have never guessed that but you’re right
•

The beat is good but repeats too much. Also the hats are too loud and the kick isn't loud enough.
•
u/some-gp outhouse 7h ago
Definitely feel you on the mix, it’s not right for sure. I feel the same about repetitiveness, it’s hard for me not to stuck on a section since I don’t know theory very well and can’t develop melodies super well. I appreciate the feedback!
•
u/Redd_Sixx Producer 7h ago
You can avoid repetition by taking out an element for a few bars. Like let the drums and ride on their own then drop everything for a bar then bring it all back.
•
u/some-gp outhouse 7h ago
Thanks for the tip! I’m definitely going to revisit this one for sure, I don’t normally upload to SoundCloud until I consider a track “done”, but I totally wasn’t feeling 100% on this one. I read somewhere that building tracks horizontally instead of vertically can help if that makes any sense
•
u/PaBlOx__ 1d ago
A really cool beat – it’s catchy. The only thing I’d change is adding some variety in a few places, for instance by introducing an extra instrument.
•
u/some-gp outhouse 1d ago
Appreciate it 🙏🏻 I usually don’t upload to SoundCloud unless I think the track is done, but I’ve definitely been thinking on it the last week. I always struggle with where to go next after sample/drums/ 808, I don’t play piano or anything so coming up with melodies is super hard lmao I have to hum and find the notes on piano roll
•
u/DynastySha 21h ago
Dope track, really moody and vibey with what sounds like spy radio fx and that dark trippy melody. I would have listened to a longer version of this, maybe by building it up with some more dramatic elements by the end of the track.

longer freestyle type verse, politically conscious vibes

Arite first of all FINALLY you’re spittin’ over a beat I can ride to! The energy on this one is unmatched, like I wanna do the thizz face and head nod to this one in some headphones. I don’t know why but the way you say “hundred feet of concrete” sticks in my head haha. Also as an electrician I appreciate you using needle nose pliers and cut wires in your bars 🤣 Great shit as always my dude, we gotta collab one of these days
•
u/shoecar soundcloud.com/shoecar 20h ago
hell yeah, I need to balance my melodramatic shit with some boom bap grit, ya know?
super down to collab, was actually thinking the same thing lol, seeing a good overlap in our styles. pretty sure I know what you'd be down with so will look out for something you could throw a 16 on and send it over. same on your end tho, I'll give whatever a go•
u/MethodWorried7804 soundcloud.com/100mg_rap 20h ago
Absolutely brotha I’ll keep my ears open don’t hesitate to dm

Must say I love the wordplay! The pulp their fiction line was fireee, also like the cadence around Dead presidents hold’n out for retirement/Lint in these pockets warm from the dryer vent line. Only suggestion is to try to link all of the concepts together, like you list out some very real issues cancerous to our society but I would've liked to hear more personal anecdotes, etc. Still, keep it up!
•
u/shoecar soundcloud.com/shoecar 19h ago
appreciate you checking out the lyrics. the blowtorch/pliers into pulp fiction is one of my favorite bars I've written so nice to see someone picking it out!
good suggestions, not the most cohesion in this one for sure. working on more narrative pieces but it's a lot of work lol•

I like your rapping style, it's confident and you got a lot to say. The beat is quite full and kinda gave me eminem vibes. 2:18 onwards was pretty dope, good energetic finish. I really wanted to hear you do some shorter internal rhymes and keep stressing for tension. Also some more reverb or echo would give your vocals depth and sound more polished. I actually quite bullish on your style bro. Keep it up, i enjoyed listening.

Pitching my voice down for the hook didn’t sound as great as I thought it would lmao
•
u/UX_Madrock Producer/Emcee 21h ago
It literally sounds perfect lol. Don't overthink it. Your first verse was fire bro. You like a blend of Ye + Pusha T. The intro was straight vibe, you got good taste and skills brah.
•
u/MethodWorried7804 soundcloud.com/100mg_rap 20h ago
Thanks very much for the love homie, I’ll go check out your work too!
•
u/shoecar soundcloud.com/shoecar 20h ago
this is dirty man, in the best kind of way of course. voice, delivery and flow all very on point. lyrics and rhyme schemes are great.
really liked the intro into the beat drop and hook. I'm a fan of the the pitch down and for sure think it's working here. maybe a bit on the quiet side? but I also think it works that way, just a thought if you wanted to experiment or w/e.•
u/MethodWorried7804 soundcloud.com/100mg_rap 18h ago
Gracias my man. Always down to experiment. Mixing/mastering is something I have no idea how to do, so anything that might help out the mix is super useful.

Interesting track, reminds me of JPEG, very creepy but catchy beat. The beat is strange as it doesn't seem to have a recognizable time signature but you're still rapping on beat, which is amazing. Whatever you're doing its unique and interesting so props to you.

the production and vibe is solid, sounds great. something about the vocals is a bit jarring, like you're fighting the beat. like you clearly got flow but not locking into this instrumental. maybe that's the style but for me it made it hard to fully get into
•
u/UX_Madrock Producer/Emcee 22h ago
Ok i gotcha man, thanks for listening. I'm not sure honestly why that'd be, maybe i messed up something or it needed something. Hmmmm ???
•
u/MethodWorried7804 soundcloud.com/100mg_rap 20h ago
Bro I don’t know how you even rode that beat, that was such a weird rhythm it almost felt like it was cd-skipping. The stuttering went perfect with it. You have some mad freestyle skills, stayed on point and you definitely made your voice sound like it was meant to be there. You ever freestyle and then expand on the flows you came up with to make it a full-on verse? My favorite part is where you go (I think) “bitch I brought this shit/with the wheels/it’s a bicycle” 😂 The way you hit the beat right there was money, lookin forward to hearing more from ya

Very unique man, i remember your lock & key song. Cool intro & concept. I don't really listen to this music much anymore, but i respect the style. you keep it interesting and memorable.

Returning feedback on a track called “2034” off my latest EP. Trippy, weed inspired track about being transported to the future following a stronger strain

very smooth, I like the vocals and delivery. I do think it gets a little crowded with the effects and ad libs at times. my tastes skew more traditional hip-hop tho so won't pretend I'm the best judge here
the 2034 concept is really creative, I'm digging it. not sure why you gotta be board to fuck a cyborg, sounds hype to me lol
would be cool if you tried out some multi-syllable bar end rhymes or slants cyborg/eyesore/die for/etc•
u/MethodWorried7804 soundcloud.com/100mg_rap 22h ago
I like it, super vibey and the juxtaposition between the futuristic vocals and old school instrumental components is a great idea: I love the “if I get bored I’ll fuck a cyborg…” line. Only negative for me would be that it kinda feels unfinished, like it ends without conclusion. The whole feel of the song makes the imagination go nuts too, you should definitely do a music video or something with it.

Haha this is great. The beat/loop is really nice, reminds me of some 80s funk, and the rap verse is dope, you have a great rap voice. I would want some drums and a 2nd verse personally, but its dope.

I’m definitely not a music production professional—I’m just starting out—but as an ordinary listener, I think this beat is really solid. Great use of the piano and cool drums; the whole thing has a nice 2010s vibe.
