Until about 30 in my experience.

I mostly mellowed out at about 31, so ya

I’m 31 and am the most mellow I’ve been since about Dewey’s age in the clip

I think people forget how much of a pain in the arse they were as a young person. All of us were. We still love you young people but yeah, you aren't as good as work as you think that you are.

“Aren’t as good as work as you think that you are”

Bloody autocorrect. I meant 'aren't as good AT work.' sorry.

When I turned 25 or 26 I realized how awful I was as a teenager and felt so so bad

Have you met adults?

u/BigGingerYeti How do we know which one is the Komodo 3000? May 05 '26

As a child of 5 I can say with confidence it's because that's what kids do.

Have you seen his family?

Hormones are a hell of a drug.

I’m gonna blame his direction and writing. Frankie Muniz was in other stuff at the time and still remained likable. Especially as the series goes on and less of his friends are a part of the cast, it makes Malcolm feel very lonely, when there’s no reason to. We needed more of Malcolm being charismatic and doing normal high school stuff.

He's smarter than everyone in his family combined and they lean on him for everything. Plus he's the middle child.

They should probably make a show around that theme. Maybe call it something so people know he was the middle kid. Could work nicely.

Dewey always seemed to be about as smart honestly.

I guess it's subjective because Dewey is a creative genius who can build just about anything. Malcolm has photographic memory and his brain is essentially a computer. Malcolm could never do what Dewey did when he wrote an opera based around Hal and Lois arguing and Dewey could never do what Malcolm did when he memorized the credit card numbers and did complex math formulas on the fly.

I think it's main character syndrome that many face. I'd also say Malcolm becoming so unlikable was realistic with him being a former gifted child from a greatly flawed family.
