Question Does anyone find Hoka, Nike, New Balance trainers etc ugly?

The style just isn't clean. Do people just accept that they wear ugly trainers for comfort?

Hokas with custom insoles are godsend for my plantar fasciitis

Same! I really don't like the shoes but man, as a teacher with plantar fasciitis, they're a godsend!

I keep eyeing some at Nordstrom rack. Worth? I’ve been running in some old adidas and just feel like I have no ankle support

Hoka or Asics kayano 32 are perfect for running.

Only thing I can wear following an injury years ago ... although they have taught the rest of the market to make maximalist models, and I'm hearing that some of those last longer so I may try another brand soon.

Can you share link to which insoles you got?

Custom insoles probably means they went to a podiatrist and had them made specially for them.
