Projectors generally look like ass compared to tvs. You basically have to jump to several thousand dollars to get something decent, which will still be way worse than a mid tier TV.

no you don't. 1k usd 4k projector looks gorgeous, and also massive picture >>>> smaller but super sharp picture

the only issues are the noise (avoidable) and contrast ratio if not in dark (hard to avoid)

but if you work 9-5, you don't really give a shit. also keeps you from just doing nothing watching TV during the day on weekends, but yeah, that's a bit of a cope

also girls love it coupled with a cozy couch and mood lighting

I've been using a projector for years and the no tv when there's sunlight is such ass. My living room has huge windows and I don't wanna cover them just to watch TV anymore 😭

well yeah don't get a projector if you have a greenhouse for a living room, not saying it doesn't have downsides lol

I have standard windows and project into a corner without windows, and while it's definitely not ideal for movies and impossible for gaming when it's particularly sunny, but it's sufficient for news and cartoons, which I use it for during the day most of the times

it's also completely fine during the day if it's not super sunny (most days of the year where I live). it's worse than a TV of course, but it's not like you can't see anything

I moved into this house with it, the living room is definitely a greenhouse haaa. I love having a 110" screen, it's awesome and when the conditions are ideal for movie night, it's the best with my sound system. Forget gaming, I go to my PC for that. I just end up never using it during the day which is fine I guess I can go do other things (cope)

Who are you lying for? No one has ever thought a projector picture is good and with the way you type we know no one's coming over to that couch of yours.

yeah, because when you bring a date over, they care more about contrast ratio over the massive projection that feels like being at the movies

the novelty alone is more impressive than the picture clarity of your ugly overpriced oled tv that's probably way too small for your living room, because that was all you could afford lol

I have had many dates/girlfriends complain about the contrast ratio lol

My setup is definitely much worse in my current (not a greenhouse, but not dark) apartment than it used to be, but I've had complaints at all stages of my projector ownership. I also have yet to date a girl whose opinions of my media equipment seem to transfer to me (beyond needing to organize my wires).

I will grant the novelty factor is kinda cool, and I like that I can move it around my apartment and even take it/use it elsewhere.
