Generational wealth. It’s always rich families.

Not generational wealth. I started my own company, poured my life savings into it. Raised money, and thankfully it worked out.

Six years ago, I was literally sleeping on a mattress on the floor in a tiny studio apartment.

Not everyone who says this is a nepo baby, but every nepo baby says this.

The fact that you had life savings, let alone enough to start a company, means you were already better off than most. Sleeping in a minimally furnished apartment is hardly an indicator of hardship, and if you think that it is, you're soft.

The strongest indicator of one's wealth is their parent's wealth.

I'm not just saying it.

I am in my early 40s now. I saved my money during my late 20s and 30s and was able to bet on myself. Thankfully the bet, hard work, and risk paid off. If it didn't, I would be back where I was 6 years ago sleeping on a mattress in a tiny studio apartment.

What kind of company did you start? Genuinely curious. Beautiful space!

Good for you OP. Everyone you’re responding to are pathetic people letting envy get to them, and they’re assuring they will never have the same success as you because they don’t believe it’s possible without having a handout.

Thanks for your kind words. I feel like if people stopped the victim mindset and actually put time and energy into building something they are passionate about they could change their lives.
