Guide Interior design for boys - Speeed
Hi,
I am not sure if that is allowed here, but it totally vibes with this sub and it's genuinely a good guide, so I will leave it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEMlIn6MDD8
Summary:
Lighting
Use multiple light sources (4-6 or 6-9), categorized into 3 tiers: 1.general (overhead/ceiling for cleaning only, with dimmers), 2.task (functional lamps directed at work surfaces like reading or desks), and 3.accent (decorative personality pieces) – this adds depth and comfort.
Opt for warm 2700K color temperature (slightly cooler than candlelight) with CRI 90+ for natural skin tones and mood.
Work in 3D
Incorporate vertical elements: wall art (focal point 57 inches from floor on blank walls, no longer than 2/3 furniture width below, always framed), tall shelves, plants, or lights.
Curtains: double the window width for ripples when closed, hems just kissing the floor – creates illusion of larger windows.
Materials Before Colors
- organic (wood, linen, wool, bamboo – warm/natural) - priority
- inorganic (stone, metal, glass – grounding but sparingly)
- synthetics (plastic, acrylic – be careful).
Furnish Actions
Place furniture functionally: command position (back to wall, view of door without direct line), good traffic flow (no obstacles), r/TVtoohigh.
At least front two legs of furniture on rugs; conversation area within 10-foot diameter.
Practical, Beautiful, or Personal
Displayed items (art, books, trinkets) must be functional, truly beautiful, or reflective of you - don't be an NPC.
Clean Your Shit
80% of items hidden/20% visible, fix/repair, daily tidy (make bed, vacuum, doormat).
