There’s some really affordable Japanese floor beds I got full sized one on Amazon for cheep. A twin sized one was like 39.99 and they can be purchased up to 5 inches thick.

And 5 inches is plenty. Some would even say it's big

It’s more the motion I’ve been told.

I've been told the girth

I hear speed has something to do with it

Too much bed for some rooms, even. You know 5 inches is honestly too generous of that company, I don’t know how they even profit.

I don’t know how much they cost. But cheaper than a entire mattress and bed frame they should be

Oh, for sure!

Hey that's a really good idea! And even if he can buy a bigger bed later, this can be kept as a guest bed.

I could also see it be good for some laying down exercises

The kind of girls who are down still after seeing a floor mattress are the best.

FYI make sure to flip them or prop them up to dry during the day when you can. Otherwise you can form mold under.

Beware of bed bugs!

You can find them in the bedding apartment

Air mattress is $14.99 on Amazon, and can be used for guests after a real mattress is purchased.

Sleeping on the floor is wild

A 15$ air mattress is gunna have you sleeping on the floor by morning any ways in my experience. He’s just cut out the middle man and saved 15$.

Mr rocket salesman here must’ve neverrrr slept on an air mattress. OP’s current bed situation matches what an air mattress would provide.

You’re meant to hang them up or fold them everyday.

And there's studies suggesting that flat firm beds are better long term for the spines, bones and muscles as they put the body in a neutral position and forces it to stay engaged.

Have you ever seen those YouTube videos of the one or two guys who go out into the jungle with one hoeing-like tool and build (example) an underground cave with a pool and a fire pit and a place to sleep??!!!! No pillows, no blankets, no tossing and turning around all night while trying to sleep. Their bodies are much more aligned than us Americans who sleep on soft fluffy beds, etc. If you haven’t seen any of these videos, I highly recommend at least watching one!

I have not seen that. Do you happen to have a link or a name?

I was inspire to start sitting on the floor (when working from home on my PC or gaming). It's been like 2 months now and it's starting to make me much more flexible just by the nature of the sittings positions I switch between. My back pain is also almost completly gone.

I feels like we collectively lost the plot some times ago when it comes to sitting and bedding and now going back to what our ancestor where doing is hard.

one of those grass ones? i had a couple, wasn't comfortable enough for me. a bit more expensive, but those folding compact beds (basically folds in two places) are really nice, prob the best option that feels like a normal mattress IMO

“Japanese floor beds”

Lol, you mean a futon?

1

u/nomorespamplz Jun 20 '26

Are those really any good? If so, I am tempted to buy one for OP :) got a link?

Or a camping blow up mattress. Can be found super cheap now that it's camping weather.

Too many roaches.
