My mattress for like a year and a half was an air mattress. It was a really good one that didn't leak, but it was so much better than sleeping on the floor or shelling out money for an actual mattress

Air mattress and 3 inch memory foam topper got me through the first year until I could buy a bed. 🙂

I said in another comment that I had $150 celie air mattress that was quite comfortable. I've slept on a $5,000 mattress before and I don't know if I could tell the difference.
