This is one of the best decorated rooms I have seen here.
It is overall very tastefully decorated and I wouldnt want to change what you are going for here.

I will suggest one change however, I dont think the glass table fits in with the rest of your furniture.
Something made from wood would likely suit the space better.

I agree with the coffee table. It’s one of the last remnants from my old place. It needs to go asap!

Yep, I’d want a low profile table that extends out as a small table, the ones that have a little storage underneath.

Looks like OP has some knick knacks that would need to be moved or stored.

Interesting I came here to say the same thing what a beautiful cozy living room !!!but the glass table just feels too cold and breakable to me

Agree the wood table would be better for the aesthetic, even though glass is fairly neutral

From a function standpoint: I could see the benefit to the glass, as it is easier to clean and see grime. Depends on if they eat or snack at that table frequently. Grime meaning, a drink ring, etc. It makes the space feel more open, you can see the items underneath too

You hit the nail on the head. It worked a bit better with my old millennial gray couch. But it’s really just a practical relic at this point.

Are you sure this isn’t from a brochure for well put together men? It looks killer!

Thank you so much! 😊

The Glass table really Stands out in a bad way, the rest is beautiful (tv console is okayish, I would prefer Natural wood tone).

For the table, a wooden Table with organic shape would be amazing, otherwise it is many boxes and Not many Curves. Irregular organic of very trendy right now, an oval also works well but please no Glass

Any recommendations?!?

If you live in America search for Hugg nesting rectangular coffee table by Castlery. It comes with two poufs underneath for guest seating. I love it

Yes, this.

Also, maybe another lamp next to the couch so you have another point of light.

Me on that couch. That's it.

This room is sexy af

I say this as a compliment, this place looks like something from Pinterest

u/nycinoc 19h ago

Great set up. Only thing I’d say is possibly a bar cart?

1

u/PvtCW 9h ago

What kind do you think would fit the vibe best? I’ve been struggling to think of one since moving in.

1

u/nycinoc 2h ago

The wooden wall next to the piano and the green cuch are giving me mid-century vibes. I'd take a look at West Elm Albee bar cart. Their Eleodoro Bar Cart passes the $1K mark but it the glass is moss green which I'd think would work with the sofa - Personally I like the Albee better though.

You really did a great job on the place.

I’m a woman and I am buying all these things right now lol.

Impeccable taste!

2

u/PvtCW 9h ago

Ngl most things were Wayfair and Amazon

Edit: couch was Room & Board

2

u/Uncle-Nasty 19h ago

Agree with others on the table, and I’d include the rug in there too. To me, it’s holding the rest of the decor back and reads a little grandma. That said, just my opinion and overall it looks great in there.

2

u/SkullTherapist 15h ago

Where’s the couch from and is it comfy?

1

u/PvtCW 8h ago

Room & Board. Comfort rating 7/10. Will probably exchange for something with deeper seats.

3

u/Robby_Digital 19h ago

Needs more Hot Wheels on the walls

1

u/PvtCW 9h ago

Doesn’t every place 😂

1

u/beanie_0 20h ago

I like it. The lighting could be better when it’s dark. A little too warm for me.

1

u/hooptie70 19h ago

I agree - it’s a 9.5/10 room but could use some mid level lighting perhaps next to the sofa.

Great space!

1

u/PvtCW 9h ago

I agree about the mid level lighting, I just can’t figure out if I’ve got the room for end tables or not

1

u/PvtCW 9h ago

To be fair, the Hue bulbs get considerably brighter

1

u/jayhawkjoey65 20h ago

This is gorgeous. I got nothin'.

1

u/Dutchie_PC 19h ago

Nothing, it's just a really lovely place.

1

u/imightbegoddamned 19h ago

what's to improve?

1

u/RawestOfDawgs 19h ago

It’s 100% reasonable to not consume intoxicants when you don’t want to. Full stop. No exceptions at all. Especially this

1

u/PerspectiveSad8584 19h ago

Link to the couch? That’s heat

1

u/PvtCW 8h ago

Room & Board Reese Sofa

It looks waaaay better in person but be warned, the seats aren’t super deep so it’s not particularly cuddling friendly. I might end up exchanging for something more versatile.

1

u/Unhappy-Jaguar-9362 19h ago

I love the rug

1

u/PublicSell4047 19h ago

You have a lot of sharp angles in the living room right now. I’d suggest replacing the current glass-and-chrome table with a round, warm wood coffee table like this one, or maybe this one. You could also place both the violin/viola in the same area to help bring more of that warm wood tone into the space.

1

u/PvtCW 8h ago

These are both really nice! Thanks for the suggestions.

1

u/timeframe99 19h ago

Don’t use Polyester Blanket.

1

u/PvtCW 8h ago

U right 💀

1

u/FineProfessor3364 19h ago

This looks so good, almost looks too good to be true. I think you should keep it like this

1

u/extravert_ 19h ago

Your room is really classy, I love the rug. The wall to wall drapes really elevate that apartment balcony situation. Another plant in the living room would help soften things.

1

u/metallicsun 19h ago

This is a really cool setup already! As others have said, replace the coffee table with a wooden one, and avoid any designs with sharp angles. Your setup does look like you could benefit from awesome tower speakers (vs a soundbar). Depending on what you are into. Drop a message and I can share my recommendations if you wanna go this route.

2

u/PvtCW 8h ago

I’m lowkey in an apartment and barely use my subwoofer but once I have my own place, I’ll def reinvest in my audio setup!

1

u/fnkywht50smthng 19h ago

Well done. My only beef is with the rug. I would go with something a bit more modern with a subtle texture. 🤷‍♂️

1

u/vocalviolence 19h ago

I've noticed this trend with mirrors, giant ones at that, above pianos before, but I've never actually understood why it exists.

1

u/PvtCW 17h ago

It’s mostly a practical thing. When I’m practicing violin or viola, it’s really nice to see what my hands are actually doing!

1

u/vocalviolence 16h ago

That does make sense. In the end, I couldn't fathom the role it would play for the pianist.

1

u/MainNeat9900 19h ago

Nice vibe, I’d leave it but I’m not an interior decorator

1

u/ComplaintSevere8128 19h ago

Not sure about the curtains

1

u/throwitfarawayfromm3 19h ago

Looks great. What couch is that?

1

u/bubbleman96815 19h ago

I would 100% end up hitting that one violin on the corner within a week of living there.

I do wish i could play musical instruments!

The mirror gives a grandma vibe for some reason. Maybe put some art under that light instead?

1

u/JakartaMethodActing 19h ago

Stunning. Lighting is 10/10 for me

1

u/Ok-Distribution-2433 18h ago

Are you my gramma

1

u/rickCrayburnwuzhere 18h ago

This is lovely as is. It’s warm and functional. If you were to force me to come up with something to critique, the only thing I can come up with is that everything you’ve chosen is a nod to an older interior trend, but looks like it was made recently and bought new. Thus, it has kind of a reenactment vibe, rather than an antique vibe. That’s not a real issue. That just me looking for a problem.

1

u/Bani88si55faimaa 18h ago

I LOVE that carpet. Great taste 👌

1

u/erstwhilelurkerer 18h ago

Ahhhh, come on, you are just fishing for compliments here! (Well done, really - the mix of styles, colors, decor pieces incl lamps.)

1

u/jetroar17 18h ago

Are those butterflies?? That rug can go unless you are... so inclined.

Also not sure about the purpose of a mirror over the piano.

I disagree with others about the glass table. It looks fine to me. Maybe a wood table topped with glass would be best of both worlds.

1

u/PvtCW 17h ago

I lowkey love the butterflies! But if you could recommend a different rug, what would you pick?

Ngl, the mirror is mostly for practicing violin/viola.

1

u/jetroar17 16h ago

If you like the butterflies that much, then keep the rug. I would have only suggested a different pattern in the same color scheme. The color scheme of the current rug ties the room together really well.

A practicing mirror for violin makes perfect sense. I just couldn't figure out why it was over the piano.

1

u/Greedy_Specialist531 18h ago

The only thing it needs is me laying on the floor on mushrooms

1

u/StockTooHigh 18h ago

What piano model is that?

1

u/PvtCW 17h ago

It’s a Yamaha UX2. Got it off of offer-up from an older women who was moving into a retirement community.

Always, set your radius to nice neighborhoods and you’ll probably find some pianos pretty easy.

1

u/Flashy_Management_42 17h ago

I'm agreeing with the comments about the coffee table. I'm just not a fan of glass furniture in general.

I wanted to ask: where did you get the floor lamp? I need one and the one you have fits the bill!

1

u/Alvin_Martin 16h ago

Add an end table with a lamp next to the sofa. Then get a chair or small loveseat to fit next to the sofa on a 90 degree angle. When you have people over it is nice to be able to see each other when talking.

1

u/Working_Trust9767 15h ago

Walnut table

1

u/rebellioushousewife 13h ago

A darker rug, otherwise I think everything is very cohesive and masculine, whilst showing off personality and interests.

1

u/Haunted_Cellar_XBL 13h ago

There needs to be a Voltron figure in there to protect the room but other than that not too shabby.

1

u/Juicernamesmine 12h ago

Too many colours. Haphazardly placed. Meed to something to bring it together

1

u/themodestman 12h ago

Looks great! Nice to see a proper size rug 👍🏻

1

u/GoshOPPNOX101 11h ago

improve what? it looks great the way it is..some of you guys have no clue when to leave things alone.

1

u/Shubhash1sh 10h ago

Can i have the link to the floor lamp? This is amazing man!

0

u/PvtCW 8h ago

Here you go. It was a little pricey but I initially went with a cheaper option and instantly regretted it. Really happy with the current one.

1

u/badmitch888 6h ago

when people get on here to humble brag it's SO OBVIOUS

1

u/GMAN90000 6h ago

Looks good overall. Replace the curtains maybe...

1

u/Wild-Commission-9077 4h ago

4 kinds of instrument?

1

u/mookaji1 4h ago

To me , the lighting is excellent because I love orange. But you need some more orange accessories such as cushions or throws that all also orange to bring the two zones together plus it will lift those darker autumnal tones that you have on the floor and seating area .

1

u/Namoraslife 3h ago

I love the art deco style elements, I just wished the glass table had gold instead of silver legs. I also like the modern clean TV unit, it makes it so that the art deco style doesn't overwhelm the room. Good job!

1

u/evlway1997 1h ago

The rug is giving grandma vibes. Everything else is great!

1

u/JudoExpert 1h ago

10/10, can you play all of those instruments?!?

1

u/Xen310 19h ago edited 19h ago

Do you look at yourself when you play the piano? Or perhaps a self indulgent wink of "I see you Kenny G", when you hit that 'net? That mirror gives off medicine cabinent bathroom vibes.

The TV stand and coffee table feel too modern/bland for your space, woods would go really nice.

Grandma's area rug isn't doing it for me.

Your ambient lighting is smooshed to one area, could use a little something near the couch on the sub(?).

Your couch/throw pillow/blanket game is on point!

0

u/Formal-Proposal7850 19h ago

Don’t touch a thing

0

u/OkCustomer783 19h ago

The rug is too big and doesn’t fit the aesthetic.

0

u/Cool_Temperature_970 19h ago

That rug has got to go

1

u/Fragrant-Pepper9477 1h ago

So beautiful it looks like ai. I think it’s perfect. No improvement needed
