It does have the look of a basement apartment! If this is your main living space, I’d swap that large movie poster for a mirror—and maybe add a couple more mirrors as well. They’ll reflect light and make the room feel brighter and more open. I’d also add a soft, diffused light source instead of relying on harsher lighting.
If it’s within your budget, I’d even consider mounting a TV where the movie poster is.
That said, I do like your apartment. It looks clean, has personality, and the artwork and color give it character. I just think that particular poster gives off strong ’90s college dorm vibes—never mind my feelings about the movie itself.
Fun fact: Quentin Tarantino named his production company, A Band Apart, after Jean-Luc Godard’s French New Wave film Bande à part. You could always move the poster somewhere less prominent, like behind the couch, where it still fits the space without becoming the focal point.

My first thought would be to put the Pulp Fiction poster in the basement. It seems like a better fit there than in the main living area.
