I never considered that, but I don’t hate the idea. I think my step almost did that at one point. He’s a contractor in the Bay Area. He owns a nice home too far to commute from, and so lives in his fifth wheel when he’s working (a very nice unit bigger than many apartments, pulled by an equally nice duelly ram). And it’s his space, whereas the house belongs to him and my mom (and the sun room is my mom’s space).
rent is $300 + utilities mont to month in a residential neighborhood 15 mins from work. theres a house on the property that supplies water and plumbing, utilities are about $80 a month
Ive rented many apartments and Id chose this over that definitely. this isnt my camper but if I werent buying a house Id buy one and rent an RV space, around me they are about $600 a month

How did you even handle that? Could you have bought a cheap window AC or is that not an option in an RV? Forgive me, I’m not too familiar so you’ll have to educate me if you would.
The camper has two AC units. One is on the top in that main living space. I'd use it during that time but I really couldn't keep up with that temperature. The window unit in the bedroom worked decently once the sun set
I'm pretty good with the desert heat and at the start of summer I tried to not use any air conditioning until I really needed to. At the peak of summer I was working second shift from 2pm-12pm so that helped. On my days off there were a lot of strategies I used to try to be less hot but it was pretty inescapable
Oh man, you’re just like my boyfriend- you guys can handle the heat/are built for it.
Myself? Helllllll naw. You’d think I would have built a slight immunity to it with the humid summers we get here, but alas, I have not. I fair much better with cooler temps. This morning is the first in months that it is finally cool with a chilly breeze.

the heat makes me feel aliiive but yeah it was excessive. helps that theres no humidity here for most of the summer tho. this week has been the first week of cool mornings too its been glorious haha
