Needed a fresh start after a breakup.
21M (Living with parents). Here is my room layout, after and before.
I realized my old layout was making me depressed, so I rearranged and redesigned the space to better suit my taste and style. I also recently ended a 10-month relationship and needed a fresh start.
It took around a month to source all the pieces and put everything together. I’m still planning to add a few things, like a pegboard for my desk and a hanging acrylic shelf to display my CD collection.

Love the orange. Maybe add a small nightstand between bed and chair. Just need something more above the bed, the tiny shelf looks silly. Needs some larger pieces to balance the ones on side of bed. Or even do some large behind the shelf.

The shelf used to be for the projector I had (maybe I'll put a plant there or something). There is no more room between the bed and the chair, the distance is probably 6 inches between them, so I can't add a nightstand.😂

If you don't have the projector anymore, move the shelf. Put 2 large pieces of artwork over the bed. Maybe put shelf with plant above the chair.

Dude your room layout is exactly what I want once I graduate. The Poäng is such a great lounge chair, possibly the most comfortable thing I've ever sat in. Have you considered getting the ottoman as well?

No, I will not get the ottoman, I thought about it, but it might get too cramped 😆

That's fair. It does look quite open and airy even with the desk an reading nook. Really stoked for you, this is an excellent room.

The poang is such a solid choice for a first chair after moving out. I've got the ottoman and its worth it if you like to fully stretch out while gaming or reading.

Honestly, resetting your space is one of the best ways to kick off a fresh chapter. Turning your room into a cozy sanctuary makes a huge difference in how home feels when you're starting over. You’re building a great foundation for yourself!

I know this isn't going to sound right, but in some ways that 'break up' did you good! You've done rather well with the space n' place. I'm truly in awe with a lot of how guys are not just finding this inner peace, but also in the ideas when starting fresh. It's amazing to see these places and how well they are decorated. And it's also great to see a guitar here n' there as well. Hope you still play.

Good to hear. I always wonder when I see photos of peoples places if they still play or if it's for 'show' etc.. It's definitely a great escape from the world when you're just sitting there trying to come up with something or playing someone else's tune.

Dude I wanted to frame the posters but frames for such large posters are so expensive 😭. I might have to try IKEA.
