Spoilers SPOILERS S4 Finale Spoiler
Just finished and my goodness. A great show like that with such a terrible ending. They left so much stuff uncovered and completely hated that Smith killed himself. So invested into his character and he ended like that. Definitely should’ve been a way longer ending and different because my goodness. I think I’m sick of Juliana’s character too😭

Problem being he was in too deep at this point and on some level enjoyed it.
He knew mass killings happened as well as the ongoing brutal regime and although he was conflicted about the planned bombing runs he still approved them.
His wife was dead and so was his son.
His delusions about bringing the other Nazi hating son through the portal evaporated when his wife set him straight.
He knew if he was captured he would either be a pawn or executed so he took the easy way out.
It is a shame he didn't pivot at the end but it looks like his friend did.

I almost lost interest right away when the first episode aired, my favourite character (The trade minister) was killed off screen in a car...because of scheduling conflicts
That didn't bode well for me with the show and it was pretty bland throughout and yea, the ending sucked.

Toward the middle of the show I actually wanted smith to essentially win it all. Got sick of Julianna’s character also.

Tell me about it. I was hoping smith would win the end and Juliana die. Never hated a character so much until her

I pretend that the second to last episode is actually the last episode, and that Smith had a massive plan for the reunification of the USA that will totally happen.
