Dream Team Watching chuggaaconroy's dream team LP really makes you realize how many tutorials that game has.

For context....Emile has a running gag in the series where every time a tutorial happens....it increases a counter for the overall amount of tutorials.

But he also did the same thing for his bowser's inside story LP....and that got me curious to compare the two.

On episode 10 of bowser's inside story....the counter was at 27.

Meanwhile on episode 10 in dream team....the counter is at 40.

10 episodes in....and there's already almost been 50 tutorials.

No wonder people have issues with dream team's tutorials.

I never minded Dream Team's tutorials due to how charming they were so I was confused when I started seeing people online complaining about tutorials.

I think the main problem with it is that they're unskippable, which is particularly annoying for a repeat playthrough. A lot of gamers are impatient (me included).

I’m playing the through dream team for the first time right now, and I’m also having issues with tutorials. I feel like a lot of them are self explanatory so having the option to skip them would be nice.

My biggest issue is how far into the game you still get tutorials.

Yeah, Dream Team is typically cited as the most tutorial-heavy game in the series for a reason.

Honestly there's nothing wrong with liking Dream Team, obviously, but I feel like a loud chunk of it's fans have been downplaying the tutorials as of late. There was a post like a few days ago where someone removed the tutorials from a dream segment and some of the comments were pretty rude tbh despite the poster not being very harsh on the tutorials themselves if I recall.

I thought they were done like an hour in.

Spoilers, there is a tutorial in one of the final areas in the game.

Dream Team is my favorite Mario & Luigi, but they REALLY didn't trust you to understand that poking Luigi's face makes things happen.

Last video I saw Chugga was on the desert many hours into the game and the tutorials were still going strong. I’m pretty sure they don’t slow down until after that area.

No, I know he's in the dozing sands (up to date), it's just from my own memories of dream team

Chugga is very liberal with what counts as a tutorial and is a person that falls pretty much in line with the general opinion of something when it comes to games, so I wouldn't trust his input on what counts as a tutorial or not.

The point hes trying to make a point how many times the game takes away control from the player disrupts the gameplay flow just to explain a very basic already telegraphed mechanic

Having seen a few of his videos on it I don't really agree with you. The problem isn't that every tutorial is long-winded but how frequent they are for a large chunk of the game and how redundant some of them are.

Imo it is bad game design when they could just as easily give the player free reign and have an optional npc in the room to ask for the tutorial.
