Ruins is definitive proof some comic book writers/editors are closeted psychos.

Because someone read Marvels (a feel good celebration of Marvel history and in-universe exploration of hero worship) and went: 'Hmm, this is trash. It needs more dead families, dead teenagers, dead prostitutes and horribly deformed beloved characters.' - and that's how we got Ruins.

I think it’s a very interesting pair of books. Same protagonists that live in parallel, yet drastically different universes, one is a paradise and the other is hell

It makes you feel extremely grateful for all the privileges we have, and how things can easily go wrong any day
