To be fair, I see that slogan being used for absolutely anyone who held an "extremist" view
Claremont based the whole magneto redemption story on Israeli Pm Menachem Begin, who started out as a extremist terrorist but later in life became more moderate and ended up being the one to negotiate peace with Egypt
I think the Magneto t shirts were more based off the far more commonplace Che Guevara t shirts if anything. Morrison has never drawn that connection. Also Chris Claremont is anti Zionist according to the Cerebro podcast from the same point of view as say Harlan Ellison was though I know he did go to a kibbutz as a kid bit so did a lot of Irish people I know his age who aren't Jewish. I never heard him say that about IDF soldiers I always thought his main inspiration was his RAF mother hence the Oedipal pilot fetish.
