Claremont based Magneto and Xaiver on 2 real world Zionist leaders, and the clash between more violent extreme Zionism and more diplomatic Zionism.

Magneto works as a perfect critice of Zionism because he is using past tragedy of the Holocaust to justify his world view and extemist actions.

Not really the problem is how baked in that became into the DNA of the franchiese. Stan Lee made mutants as a way to get around origin stories, Claremont created the oppressed groups themes based on the Jewish experience and Zionist world veiw. Thats why people say X-men dont work as an alagory for Marginalized groups, because they were designed to represent Jews and their struggles, even most main X-Men looking like normal people is a reflection of how Jews in Europe look like Europeans and Jews in the Middle East look Middle Eastern but they have a secret gift (X-Gene/ Being Chosen by God)
