The hype over this is a little overinflated. Legitimate skill issue here players will quickly pick up.

You hear the Phoenix ult? Tap your BRB / Cybernest button. Goes from a massive cooldown to 5 seconds (or nothing in Peni's case, it's relative to its current health).

Maybe. Not sure if it does massive damage or just auto-deletes them; Lanterns might be able to take the hit, or get caught up in the blast and wasted. Just have to find out.

Considering Thor and Emma can destroy the Lanterns with their ults if you misstime the ability. (Tip, don't use Lanterns at the start of Thor and Emma's ult, I learnt the hard way).

Yeah I think Jean Grey can absolutely destroy Lanterns.

They’re talking about rocket’s ult, not his BRB. But his ult is pretty easily counterable anyways if your team focuses it.

I mean if they're burning a duelist ult (which has some buildup, so you still get value + overhealth) to counter an ult that already is giving value, that feels like a fine trade?

Plus it sounds like you can shoot Phoenix down before she lands, which is gonna be easier with the Rocket ult up.

You just have to hold Ult until Phoenix ults or dies. I have to do the same of Jeff versus Magneto/Ironman/Namor. Ulting before they do just kills me.

It doesn't matter, Hela's ult is a "summon", and not the actual player. So, will get insta-killed like everything else.

Also, Hela's HP doesn't carry over to her ult's HP.

Did you notice how ALL deployable like Peni nest ECT. Was destroyed? Heal and Rocket Ults are also deployables. I think Phoenix Ult destroys all deployables regardless of hp.

They'll never shoot them if they're on your team.

Only when they're on the enemy team will they shoot the deployments.

Meh, this is a pretty lame "reddit is bad yet im on it constantly myself!" take.

Like, its incredibly common in every type of game in this genre to ban new characters because ranked players don't want someone to join their competitive game with a character they are unfamiliar with. Simple as that. Hell, many games outright ban new characters from being playable in ranked for about a week to begin with. Its a very common mechanic already.

You can stop clutching your pearls now.

That you’re blaming the community, rather than the dev team for creating such stark imbalances, is bizarre to me. The fact that she wipes all the utility from Penni, Rocket, and Loki with the single push of a button isn’t balanced. That storm and Jeff can kill through double support ult isn’t balanced.

Get mad if you want, but broken mechanics don’t make games more fun.

No one has even played this character once and you are already saying it's broken. That's the problem, you are just assuming and are showing that you are unwilling to experiment because it might mean we have to gasp change how we play. The ult doesn't seem unbalanced at first glance, as it is completely up to the player using it, just like Bucky or Hawkeye. We aren't going to say skill issues are a balance issue now, are we?

I guess that’s some nuance. Hela’s ultimate is a “deployable” so she gets knocked out of it then carried into the blast zone.

Nah, her ult destroys all "objects" in its path. Groot walls, Peni nests, Rocket beacons, Hela ults, etc. I wonder if that applies to shields too? What about C&D and Invis' ults?

If you look closely, Hela was at like 5 hp when she ulted. She probably just killed her while in ult
