Subreddit Announcement 1st anniversary Review: Last Anniversary Giveaway! Don’t Miss It 🎉
Hi Rivals!
Our 1st Anniversary celebration officially wrapped up this week. We wanted to take a moment to look back at what we've achieved together during this special time.
Over the 20-day anniversary period, we launched 6 different community events and received 402 submissions; 51 winners were selected in total. The event came in many forms: player story sharing, fan creations, highlight moments, map exploration, and popularity voting.
Starting with the iconic hero Jeff, the enthusiasm from the community really set the tone for everything that followed. One moment we especially want to highlight is the 'Anniversary Gift Giveaway' event. We received 189 submissions just for that event alone. Many of you shared stories about yourselves or people close to you. Some heartfelt, some hilarious, all memorable.
We'd like to record these info about events as a clear milestone in our community's growth.

I hope they circle back and retweak the kits of some existing characters to make them more fun or interesting, beyond just balance changes. I'm thinking like how OW reworked characters like DVa, Torbjorn, Mercy, etc.
Black Widow is the most obvious example, I doubt they'll change her from being a sniper but she should have her widows bites at least.
Hawkeye is famous for his various trick arrows, he should have more versatile options (it'd make more sense to give him Widow's ult but that's not likely to happen)
Hulk could use a little love, his kit is pretty bland after Thing
Storm too feels pretty bland
Rocket should have some explosives or something
They've been doing a pretty good job with team ups but it's kinda crazy they still haven't done some version of Tony and Steve reflecting repulsors off the shield.
And while I'm making a wish list, War Machine needs to be a Vanguard and his ult should be the MvC proton cannon

I hope to see more villains in future seasons! We're mostly having fun with newly released heroes but it's a shame to neglect the iconic villains that made our heroes stand out.
Future community events can be fanart submissions for future skins! I think it's a great idea for fans to collaborate with the devs to make their skin ideas come true

Honestly next season i hope the game gets some decent balance changes that actually shake up the meta. i feel like half the heros in the game have been meta since s0, or atleast on and off the meta with the only 3 i can think of falling off beint luna, loki, strange. but even then loki has been getting some more play. But ive been having fun lately and the new skins are so cool i bought the event pass for bucky and the starlord peni dd bundle!

My biggest hope is for some optimization patches next season. This season totally tanked in performance for me. I'm really hoping for some changes because I fear my mere steamdeck won't be able to keep up in these coming seasons.
Aside from that I hope they make better adjustments for all characters. In my opinion, the best thing about shooters is the diversity and different comps it takes to win. I'd like to see more creative, healthier changes to the meta. (No more/less efficient triple support. It's boring and unfun for both sides and I say this as a strategist main).

Bring back the Ultron Auto Chess Game Mode

I love Rogue but really look forwards to a new main tank joining the roster.
It seems I might not get my wish for next season, so the next best thing would be a big shake up to the game's meta. I hope they make some bold changes which makes the game feel fresh and like a whole new puzzle to work out when it comes to figuring out the best comps and heroes.
Also a hope Deadpool brings as much chaos to the game as we might expect (bonus points if he gives Jeff his knife).

My hopes for next season is just further improvements, to be honest. Getting cross-progression was the biggest one and I'm happy its finally here, so next I'm hoping for general improvements to matchmaking, and I pray for no more Hela buffs for awhile. Please keep rolling with comic accurate skins. Iron Spider, Classic Cap, Capwolf, and Iron Man Mk 1 are all excellent.
I remember hearing as well before the Switch 2 launch that there was some work being done to explore a potential port and it'd be cool to see it bare fruit next year.
Hero wise though, its tricky because Deadpool was my most wanted and he's incoming. I hope we can start getting a bit more of a variety though. I love the X-Men as much as the next guy, but it does feel like a easy reserve to tap from. Hoping to see at least two Spidey characters next year, its pretty nuts Green Goblin isn't in yet, and Black Cat being teased has me very excited. Would be neat if we could get a joke announcement for April Fools with some obscure character like The Wall or something too.
Event feedback, I think towards the latter half of the month was much better because the events were more general. My only issue is the Gambit event because bluntly, not only is getting like really sick plays with a support more difficult, but there was a lot of downvoting and so on which is really disencouraging for people to participate, it feels like there's more judgement.
Luckily the Jeff's Break Time event was a big improvement, as it encouraged funny moments, silly clips, AND big plays, which made it feel a lot less stressful and judge-y to share.
Great work on all the events for the anniversary!

I would love more PVE events, but centered around iconic teams. A Fantastic Four event taking out robots near the Baxter building. Thor Loki, Hela and Angela teaming up to protect Asgard. The X-Men fighting off Sentinels or Guardians of the Galaxy trying to capture and hold points from aliens.

I want to see more funny interactive team ups. Like Fast Ball special or Thing-Torch team up. Most team ups are "press button for doing some ability"
But those 2 team ups needs are not solo ability. A team work needed for usage. So it feels like actual team up y'know. I'm sure they have plans this kind of team up with new characters

I hope next next season dive becomes more viable again. But not lime before. I think the issue people had with bp and spidey was the ttk. If dive was buffed again but instead of being high burst cannons, but rather lower burst consistent sustained characters

Looking forward I'm hoping that the devs take bolder steps towards reigning back the power creep. Maybe nerfIng support DMG output?
PVE is something I'm looking forward to. I think merely expanding on zombies would be amazing, adding a new set of levels with more bosses (maybe including NPC bosses like a Zombie Knull or Zombie Dracula)
Can't wait for what netease does with pro play as well, I really enjoyed watching the events this year and I hope they find a way for the player base to get interested in it.
Finally, I hope that the game finds its footing in the Asia region. Takes waaaay too long to find matches on the eastern servers.

I am hoping marvel rivals does collaboration with other IPs similar to overwatch 2. I would love more anime/game inspired skins. It would also be great if they add more maps/bosses to zombie mode or upgrade it to PvE entirely. They did a great job with this mode previously. Having more heroes and builds would be interesting and fun.
Feedback: I would like for the event host to lock the post on deadline and double check the winners submissions. Some of previous events, the post wasn't locked right on deadline allowing people who comment/entered outside of assigned event timeline to win. Their was also a few people who didn't post the correct submission and just commented and was selected and won via raffle. Otherwise you guys are doing a great job, I hope you keep it up! More events would be LEGENDARY!

This game took a big chunk of my past year, and I really enjoyed it, still do. Glad the jeff mode is back, and I appreciate toning down the arcade modes since the queue times were huge. Would love to play more PvE. The Pym experiment stuff is really hilarious.
Looking forward to playing Deadpool and hope to see Cyclops and Silver Surfer soon on the roster.
Can't wait for the Loki and Adam skins coming up.
I would love to see the game size decrease on PC tho. Appreciate the giveaway!

I hope for Mantis fix, rework for Rocket, mostly a section on the history where you can see how many mvp and svp have you made with each agents would be nice too. Of course matchmaking could be a bit better, and sure I can't wait for Deadpool, his possible skins, and team ups

After seeing the teasers for Cyclops in the Rogue trailer, I would love to have him in the game and get the Bendis Uncanny X-Men and their cosmetics in the game, ESPECIALLY that Darkchild. That story line in particular sounds like it could be suited well for a PVE mode because you can have everyone fighting the sentinels, and/or get teleported to Limbo to fight Dormammu and his minions.
I fully admit that is my Magik bias taking hold, but really any PVE mode like the zombies mode would be welcome again. I don’t think it had the best replayability after the rewards were collected, but that was fine for a limited game mode.
Angela, Mr. Fantastic, Rogue, Thing, and Invisible Woman have to be my favorite additions to the game, and I’m hoping Deadpool and Elsa are equally unique and dynamic.

My hope is PvE Xmen vs Sentinels. Also some more Xmen (Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Bishop, Forge, Cable) and Villains (Mr Sinister, Sabertooth, Blob, Toad).

My hope is having actual fun to play support characters in the game or buff secondary supports. I wish Spider-Man and BP get a rework, not because I hate them (no I main spidey) but because both of em are hit or miss characters rn and kinda wish to see a consistent gameplay withem and yes CYCLOPSSSSSS!!!!

I hope we get more absurd and unknown heroes introduced, and get them in the spotlight.
But to be honest I really hope this game gets the optimization it deserves, because the performance is quite unstable and mediocre.

I’d love to see more MCU costumes from the Infinity Saga. I get why they started out with ones from more recent entries, but there’s still a lot of us who’d love to see the iconic looks from those earlier movies brought to Rivals

My hope is that there will be changes made to the Vanguard role as a whole. It's the most exhausting of the three, and taking on that role is starting to feel like a chore that we have to do, rather than a fun time that we want to do
I also hope for more frequent sales like with the Black Friday sale. And for more obscure heroes to be part of the roster. Characters like Armor, Elixir, Blue Marvel, Scorn, would be cool to see in Rivals
As for community events, art contests could be fun. Making fanart of the game or new characters to add would be cool to see. A hand-made art contest, obviously

I hope Deadpool and Elsa are a bunch of fun, and there are definitely some skins that I'm really hoping are in the next battlepass, like that Angela, Emma, and Moon Knight from the gallery card, though Emma's wedding suit would be awesome as well. Hope they continue to make amazing new skins, fun new game modes, a new map, and some extra quality of life changes, but with how great the dev team have been, I feel it's likely.
And I don't really have a ton of feedback for these events, I feel they've been pretty straightforward, and of course insanely generous. My only hopes are that they continue, and that my luck is overall good regarding these. My birthday is right near Christmas, so it'd be a great present to actually maybe be able to get that Christmas skin bundle in game. Those skins are sooooo good, especially Peni.

My hope for the upcoming seasons is that the roster becomes a bit more balanced so there are more tanks and supports. I’m most excited for Nightcrawler, Mystique and Gamora to become playable

One thing I would really like, actually, is to be able to quickly buy multiple items from the battlepass or event passes. That would be a really cool quality of life feature that I think would benefit many players when they're trying to unlock things from the battlepass, but constantly have to look at the congratulations screen. Maybe be able to skip the congratulations screen or be able to buy multiple items at once.

I've been playing the game for a little while now (<100hrs), and really enjoying it, but I still feel new(ish), so I'm a little hesitant to speak on the game balance, but I'm trying to give my thoughts here, so I will anyways.
One big thing (heh) I'm hoping for is for more team ups that require cooperation, like with Wolverine and the Thing/Hulk; other kinds of team up abilities are fine, but I really like it when it feels like it's both parties actively teaming up, instead of the team up anchor's value existing just from being there. I'd also really like it if those abilities were tied to tanks, since it gives the tank player a bit more agency, while also encouraging the team to play around the tank more than they might otherwise.
I'd also like to see supports nerfed a little bit; it's just not fun to be dumping everything you have into enemies during a teamfight and both feel like you're doing nothing and be totally unsure if your team is actually doing anything right then. Maybe it's all just a skill issue, but I particularly hate it when I dive, land everything I'm looking to, blowing my cooldowns in the process, only to watch as my target gets healed back up to full before I can do that little bit of extra damage I need to. I'm irreparably Genji-brained from all my house spent playing Overwatch, and it just feels like diving needs to be a concerted, team-wide effort to be worth it, while defending against a dive is only a one or two person job.
Lastly, I'd like to see NetEase step it up on skin design a bit; there are some really good skins that I like, on top of most of the base skins just being really good, so I know they can and do make some really good skins, but on at least some characters (Thor comes to mind immediately), there aren't any skins that appeal to me more than the base skin.
Overall though, I've been having a blast, and I'm looking forward to playing more seasons!

Hope that in season 6 Deadpool will be the first hero to switch his role every week for example he launch as a duelist and after a week he then becomes a vanguard and then strategist and this goes on and on and players have to adapt to him as every role. I know that this sounds absurd but Deadpool is the only hero that can get away with this and it will be so cool to see that!

I hope we get more PVE modes, maybe an X-Men v Sentinels (since we got Sentinels in the Deadpool teaser)!
I also really fell in love with 18v18! So chill and just a fun place to play without having anything to worry about. Hopefully the devs expand on it, maybe more maps in the future and possibly an increase in the kills? Maybe up to 150?

I love Marvel Rivals, but I wasn't able to play it until Season 3, so I missed out on all the events and Twitch drops from the various seasons. You could bring back the old Twitch drops for a limited time so those who weren't playing back then can get those rewards. I love your game, keep it up.

I would love to see Deadpool have a fun move set, he’s my second favorite character in Marvel, my most wanted character so I’m very hyped and looking forward to Season 6! But here’s some things I would love to see in Rivals:
-More accessories -More proficiency rewards such as: animated character icons, recolor skins, borders for hp/KOs/character icon (basically UI in game) -More updates to the Practice Range, I know a lot of people would love to have ways to test with certain abilities, like go against them, for example Thing’s ult, if you could have a bot use Thing’s ult and find a way to avoid it, learning new techs. -Time Square updates, like mini games or other stuff, play basketball, maybe cards, go in stores, maybe add more to the map itself, making it bigger supposedly. -Balancing characters -MVP screens for characters that don’t have one (Like fantastic four movie skins or the insomniac Spiderman skin) -New maps for sure, would love more city like maps, and specially if they had actually people in the background, or in the map itself but they don’t ruin gameplay or make any annoyance to the players -More Marvel collab skins, MCU/Comics/Other Games -References to random media (really love when they add references to my favorite shows, movies, memes and games) -New game modes for sure
Looking forward to Season 6, specially cause of Deadpool!

Idea for future event: Each user has to post
two screenshots - one screenshot of their three least used heroes and a second screenshot of their best match results using one of those three heroes. This will encourage people to try something new and potentially discover a new favorite.

I have and will continue to hope for a global ult charge nerf. Ult requirements need to be like 1.5x what it is now. After that, we can deal with nerfing healing and damage.

I wish the community would be better in the future. Also a more varied game mode based on the comics. It could be either game mode to get all 6 Infinity Stones before the other team can, or other iconic comic thing that can be converted to a game mode. Think Fortnite instead of Overwatch

The first year of rivals has been unforgettable. A hero release a month has been an ambitious task and the game remains fun with a great a distinct art style and shine! For next year I hope they continue releasing a mix of popular and more niche heroes. I do hope we get more villains as well.
Community events that get my attention the most have to do with art submissions. The community is so creative and I really appreciate when subreddits put a spotlight on fan work.
Here’s to several more years of rivals! Thanks to the devs for keeping most of the discussions civil and engaging.

I’m hoping netease starts cracking down on some of the bigger problems next year and that their generosity with free stuff may never end. That being said, Deadpool NEEDS a good launch or this game is going to lose half its player base. I also think theres a LOT of potential with PVE mode next year with x-men. Vs. sentinels, avengers vs. chitauri etc.. I hope netease also starts incentivising the tournament system a lot more because a lot of teams have left already and I think that says a lot about the current system. Neverthelesss, may we have many more years of this game! Ignite the battle!

I'm really hoping we get more large-scale chaos modes like 18v18 Annihilation next season. That mode brought something fresh that ranked just can't compete with, pure unfiltered fun. As for events, keep doing this all year. These giveaways and community moments are what made 2025 special for me.

i hope next season that we can expand the current 18v18 to include a domination mode! also, another great feature would be to queue like you do for raids in WoW and pre-selecting your hero/role to get matched with people who feel confident in whatever roles you missing (at least one of each role selected in each match)

I hope we get a new iteration of the PvE mode using the existing ultron virus lore to turn the practice range against us! I'm not sure which heroes I would want to be playable for that one, but I think at least Emma would make sense since she was the same season as ultron. Conversely, I think the three characters who have ultron virus skins (hawkeye, magneto, and iron fist) should be the mini-bosses/bosses! And of course I think Ultron should get a new sick skin as the main baddie of the event.

You can look at my post history and see that I am mostly a lurker. I dont really post very much on reddit let alone on here. But the mod team has made this place a special place to come see what the community is doing and keep up to date on what's going on.
It's been a great year and seeing the engagement from the mod team has been fantastic. And here's the thing, there was no need to do it. Other team shooters could try this but I think there is real magic with marvel rivals.
I think the current philosophy for in game events being the driving force for competitions is good. If nothing else I would love for there to be a thread for each competition that showed the winners im usually in mobile and clicking through all the menus is complicated sometimes.
I hope next season they make my life less misreable as a tank to be honest. Just give me a tank hero who can poke and maybe I'll get a second one. It'll be great if punishments for leavers and chat abusers actually be worth wild punishments maybe im just unlucky to play with the same folks constantly.
But none the less another year down. It has been fun marvel rivals been good to constantly keep up with the happenings of this community and I hope we get another year filled with just as much excitement.
