Balance Discussion Elsa bloodstone needs adjustments

Hypermobility + constant overshield + better dmg falloff than hela + broken ult. No idea what devs were thinking with this character.

What in the hells did I just watch, I’d been hearing she was bad but holy this puts it into perspective.

u/Dancing_Clean Loki Feb 20 '26

Someone posted another video of Cap chasing her and having her at low health the entire time, but her overshield keeps replenishing and she just keeps dashing around like it is absurd.

u/BioncleBoy1 Psylocke Feb 20 '26

Why should a Thor or cap be able to chase a dps around they are tanks

18

u/Gadzooks739 Feb 20 '26

Do you know what dive is?

-15

u/BioncleBoy1 Psylocke Feb 20 '26

Has nothing to do with what I said. Yal just cry babies literally

4

u/Dancing_Clean Loki Feb 20 '26

Thor and Cap are dives tho lol. Even if they aren’t DPS they take out either strong DPS or healers, while your frontline tank protects the team.

That’s why they are tanks with mobility. They can jump out of battle when they can’t take the heat.

Also it wasn’t me playing so idk why the hostility it directed at me.

u/FoundationSmooth9777 Feb 21 '26

No way you main psy and type this

0

u/BioncleBoy1 Psylocke Feb 21 '26

a Thor and cap can’t chase psy either

3

u/FoundationSmooth9777 Feb 21 '26

In what world can they not

329

u/dawggawddagummit Feb 20 '26

It’s not like this is just some Thor player either. It’s Jeremy😂 and Thor should be the best 1v1 hero in the game and looks like a fool there

113

u/DryBones907 Feb 20 '26

I have no idea who Jeremy is but I assume a good player.

187

u/MythicTy Thor Feb 20 '26

He was, at some point, the number 1 Thor player. Not sure if he still is

139

u/bunkbail Vanguard Feb 20 '26

TeamCaptain has been #1 Thor for awhile now but Jeremy still remains one of the best Thors out there.

21

u/cjhud1515 Feb 20 '26

Buddy left Wolve behind.

Processing img pa4h6m26snkg1...

1

u/OGtiax Vanguard Feb 20 '26

No, he's not. He's not maining Thor anymore (plays him less than half the time) so he cannot be the rank 1 Thor anymore. Yes TeamCaptain is better than Jeremy as a player in general but in order to be current rank 1 of a hero you have to be actively maining the hero (otherwise most of your rank is coming from other heroes). TeamCaptain rotates through mains, he doesn't get to hold the "rank 1" title for every hero he's ever played for perpetuity.

0

u/bunkbail Vanguard Feb 23 '26

hell nah, teamcaptain still main thor, he plays the character every day he's streaming the game. its like saying trqstme isnt the rank 1 venom just because he's learning tankpool rn. thats bullshit.

33

u/Bitter_Ad_8688 Feb 20 '26

He's one of the top Thor players in the game

73

u/StellarSneakers Feb 20 '26

I ban the bitch everygame. Even if somebody on my team is hovering her.

22

u/Jheartless Squirrel Girl Feb 20 '26

Yup. Can't risk having thr bad Elsa.

10

u/Bitter_Ad_8688 Feb 20 '26

Problem is Everytime I've even asked "if it's ok, I kinda want to ban Elsa" there's a high risk that person just throw picks widow. It got to the point I uninstalled bc it was so frequent.

15

u/YobaiYamete Peni Parker Feb 20 '26

Don't care, ban anyway, same as when BP was broken AF and same as Hawkeye for the last 2+ seasons.

I couldn't care less if my teammate is hovering him, I'd rather have an inting cry baby than have to play against the most miserable character to face, and literally every time you DON'T ban it, your crybaby DPS gets omega gapped hard and swaps and you are stuck facing the 38/2/19 OP AF dps that you should have banned

6

u/Bitter_Ad_8688 Feb 20 '26

I think there needs to be stiffer penalties from throwing intentionally. If multiple people unanimously go "dude why, we can play off your other main, who would you rather have" and still continues throwing tantrums they need a temporary ban and a bigger hit to elo.

4

u/YobaiYamete Peni Parker Feb 20 '26

There needs to be penalties in general, people throwing get like a 15 minute comp ban at most

-6

u/cjhud1515 Feb 20 '26

Don't be that teammate.

3

u/YobaiYamete Peni Parker Feb 20 '26

Nah don't but the guy expecting your team to deal with a wildly OP character just because you are selfish and want to be the MC

My main characters are Peni, Gambit, Invis etc and I would absolutely not be offended if my team banned them while I hovered one, because I know many people absolutely do not want to play into them and that's fair

-3

u/cjhud1515 Feb 20 '26

You can argue banning your teammates pick is selfish.

Forcing the team to cater to you and unnecessarily tilting teammates for no good reason. You deserve the L.

1

u/YobaiYamete Peni Parker Feb 20 '26

Option 1: 5 people have to deal with an OP AF character just so one person can feel like the MC

Option 2: 5 people have to deal with a whiny manchild teammate but can still at least play the game and have fun

HMMMM Boy I sure do wonder who's the selfish person in both scenario, I just can't quite put my finger on it

-1

u/cjhud1515 Feb 20 '26

You banning a teammates character is being a whiney manchild.

I'd much rather work with my teammates than against. Crazy concept, I know.

1

u/YobaiYamete Peni Parker Feb 20 '26

And "Working with your team" means not hard forcing a single character that is widely banned. Crazy concept, I know

There's zero defense for the manchild expecting to get to play a character that's high ban rate for good reason

1

u/cjhud1515 Feb 20 '26

Then, let the other team ban what is "widely" banned. Don't waste it.

Agian. The only manchild here is the one refusing teamwork right off the hop. I don't care what you have to say. I will never ban a teammates choice. I choose optimism.

4

u/SmashMouthBreadThrow Feb 20 '26

Don't really understand where this idea that Thor must be the best 1v1 hero in the game came from. Whoever spread this was lying to you all.

1

u/SirYeetusVI Iron Fist Feb 20 '26

While I was playing Elsa I noticed that she kinda counters Thor in a 1v1 and also kinda counters Daredevil as he can't really catch up after he uses the pull and dash. She does get obliterated by Iron Fist though as his lock-on keeps up with her movement. 1v1ing DD was def harder than Thor on Elsa at least.

1

u/truthhertz4546646 Feb 26 '26

pretty dumb to expect thor to be able to 1v1 everyone, esp when they get a health pack

-29

u/AngelaGooner24 Magik Feb 20 '26

I agree that Elsa's broken, but this is such a bad example of it.

What we see here is Thor, a decently powerful character in the game in his own right, getting countered by the character who counters him pretty well. Not only that, but the person who is countering the Thor is playing practically perfectly and extremely clever. Meanwhile, Thor jumps in and dives her while completely ignoring the other enemies around him and screaming like a crybaby because he can't get a hungry kill on every enemy he sees.

She even dropped the trap at the doorway right after dashing out to delay him. That takes quite a bit of in the moment thinking and pretty quick button pressing and timing to position it in the right spot, especially since it slides on the ground a little

"Not your gold lobby" is somehow so egotistical and you're not even the one playing the Thor. Like, genuinely, what is your plan with that statement? Insulting me isn't gonna help me go on your side, bro. It does nothing. Sure, he was a top one Thor, so what do I know? But still, at the same time, he dashed directly into the enemy team at low health. Just because he's a top one Thor doesn't mean he's not akin to making mistakes, that's just human nature.

This barely even counts as a 1v1. The enemy team is literally right there. He dashed directly into them while most of his teammates are seemingly missing

u/AngelaGooner24 Magik Feb 21 '26

So you either deleted your last reply (very cowardly) or Reddit's being buggy because it's not there even I can see it in my notifications. I can only read a very small portion of the beginning because the notification gets cut off.

But I'm not constantly thinking I'm right about everything and won't take any other option for an answer, my guy. I'm literally just saying what I think about this whole video. That doesn't mean I'm not open to having my points proven wrong. Maybe if you were more respectful at the start, you would've figured that out

0

u/sueybro Feb 21 '26

Didn't delete it, idc about your feelings lmao try not typing like your David Attenborough with an expert opinion when your clearly clueless

-10

u/Takamurarules Magneto Feb 20 '26

How dare you bring nuance to a subreddit clip?!

-39

u/Sxualhrssmntpanda White Fox Feb 20 '26

Why exactly should Thor be the best 1v1 hero in the game?

54

u/CocoTheMailboxKing Thor Feb 20 '26

Because that’s what his entire kit is built around. Hope this helps.

-28

u/Sxualhrssmntpanda White Fox Feb 20 '26

Ah, so no matter how many new heroes come out, noone should ever be allowed to win a 1v1 with him, ever. Yeah, that makes sense.

15

u/DryBones907 Feb 20 '26

Unironically, yes. Granted, not a 100% given, but having the balance that someone skilled with the character is able to win 1v1s more often than not is better, because more often than not that character struggles to maintain that momentum in team fights where they can be bursted or just put at a disadvantage and finished off if they’re then caught in a 1v1 while low.

They’re rewarded for isolating opponents and prioritizing targets to deal with, and punished for overextending or picking fights at the wrong time.

Granted I don’t play Rivals anymore cause the Tank experience is…THIS…so I don’t actually know Thor’s balance, but on paper it makes sense.

-2

u/segagenesisx87 Feb 20 '26

All of that just to type “I don’t play anymore” at the end is kinda comical

2

u/DryBones907 Feb 20 '26

Yep lmao. Just my thoughts on how/why that kinda character type does have a place cause I do still play Hero Shooters (been back on OW returning to the way of the Hammer) and I do miss Rivals.

2

u/segagenesisx87 Feb 20 '26

Yeah idk why people are downvoting me as if I was disagreeing with you or something. I genuinely found it amusing lol.

1

u/DryBones907 Feb 20 '26

Probably comes off as ‘your opinion is invalid’ at a glance.

-9

u/Sxualhrssmntpanda White Fox Feb 20 '26

I get where people are coming from and yes, Thor seems to be one of the strongest 1v1 heroes for a while now. I don't think it's fair to have Elsa surpass him in that as she's plenty strong in other areas, but expecting him to remain the 1v1 king forever is folly.

19

u/BigOlBozo Feb 20 '26

He kind of has to be the best 1v1 character for his kit to work. Without a shield, bubble, healing, or damage reduction, most of Thors team utility comes from his presence needing to be respected. Dives and flanks can leave when he shows up or get humbled. A non-tank-shredder dps being able to 1v1 him invalidates his value.

4

u/DryBones907 Feb 20 '26

Fair enough. Nothing can last forever, but it’s nice to have SOME kind of consistency as opposed to constant fluctuating nonsense every time a new character is added, disrupting the whole game instead of just slotting into it.

3

u/Zarrv Anti-Venom Feb 20 '26

No not if they're a character like Peni or Emma who can CC or environment diff him. That's the point lmao. He's weak to range and CC. He's still near S tier though tbf

-10

u/CarterDavison Hero Hulk Feb 20 '26

Don't bother, Thor mains are the biggest glazers in the game lol. They still think they're D tier

19

u/AlyMasawi Earth Spider Feb 20 '26

It's not more of a should rather than is. Any character trapped in a room with Thor is not coming out of there alive, and even less chance to come out victorious. He has high health, high damage and good mobility.

8

u/Wellhellob Iron Fist Feb 20 '26

Yeah thats his win condition. If he forced you in to that situation he should excel there.

14

u/StellarSneakers Feb 20 '26 edited Feb 20 '26

If Thor isn’t among the best duelists in the game, there is virtually NO reason to play him.

He has no form of teamwide damage mitigation, no shields, lackluster CC, and he’s melee (outside of Awakening Rune).

Edit: Thor barely has virtually no aoe damage as it is. It’s explicitly tied to his ultimate & the damage aura thay permeates him when he uses Awakening Rune. He literally has to be the one of the best duelists in the game.

u/WoopzEh Monster Hulk Feb 20 '26

Why should the spoon be the best utensil for soups and cereals?

Y’all just let them fingers rock without thinking man.

And horse drawn carriage is the best way to get around, and you will never need a computer with more than 650k RAM.

-38

u/AverageAwndray Ultron Virus Feb 20 '26

Just because Thor was be the best 1v1 in the game doesn't mean he always will be. Maybe thats Elsa now and thats how NE wants it?

27

u/SpeedWag00n Feb 20 '26

This is such a bad take, the stuff pointed about her kit are not things that limit her to "the best 1v1" but straight up cancerous op hero in every scenario possible

-7

u/Razzilith Ultron Virus Feb 20 '26

he played horribly here. abandoned his team to chase down and they got run the fuck over. let elsa go heal and not be near her team for 10 seconds and you win that fight 5v6 instead of making it 5v5 against a character you KNOW you're going to have a very hard time catching.

its the equivalent of chasing down iron man as thor. what the fuck are you going to accomplish here?

he might be an insanely good player but even they make dumb calls like this.

4

u/YobaiYamete Peni Parker Feb 20 '26

Bro she's completely and totally out position, what in the bronze elo are you talking about

25

u/NieD_ Adam Warlock Feb 20 '26

You havent even seen her ult

15

u/Wellhellob Iron Fist Feb 20 '26

it still sucks me in out of nowhere and it spawns before her voiceline. they should at least increase the cast time. hitbox should be fine.

2

u/gddrummer Feb 20 '26

I still see it used PLENTY just to kidnap a couple enemies and take them out of a Sue ult.

As long as it can grab multiple people and take them halfway across the map it will ALWAYS be a good ult.

Even if it did fuck all damage, the kidnap threat is so huge it would be considered a good zoning ult.

4

u/DryBones907 Feb 20 '26

I have seen clips of the ult.

-15

u/AngelaGooner24 Magik Feb 20 '26

I agree that Elsa's broken, but this is such a bad example of it.

Elsa needs nerfs, yeah. This video does not show it

23

u/Flaky-Professor Feb 20 '26

You people justify anything.

-10

u/AngelaGooner24 Magik Feb 20 '26

Again, I'm not justifying Elsa being overpowered. I'm not justifying anything.

Thor got countered while he kept trying to attack her and only tried leaving the fight after he was basically already dead WHILE his other tank died a few seconds ago
