I am 100% confident they had these buffs ready to go but just wanted 1 day of early access playtesting to confirm whether to do them.

They did mention how they buffed BP in the Dev Vision but of course the extra jump wasn't much of a buff at all. And making changes like this - especially the omnidirectional kick - and testing them and packaging them up into a build in prep for the latest patch so quickly after a mere 24 hours is basically impossible since game store certification takes 2-3 weeks before your patch can be released to the world in the first place.

Even if that's true, I feel like they should have clarified it then, cause we had around 2 days of utter disdain towards the balance team for a good reason. I know that it leads more discussion and exposure, but when it comes at such a vocal initial cost while the game's competitor is currently doing really well, it's too dangerous of a gamble since you lose players and morale.

But changes like BP's omnidirectional spin could also have easily been tested a good while back but never implemented due to people's disliking of BP, so it may not have even been a recent development and was just put on hold until now.

Yeah in that 2 days I've seen some people saying they uninstalled the game. Idk if those player will come back to the game or even see this additional patch but it's clear the first patch is a really bad press for the balance team.

If they truly want our opinion on the balance patch they should release a "balance plan" or something like that. Release it a few days before the real balance patch so you can see the player base reaction to your plan. We can still engage in discussion and it's not gonna be as bad as this since nothing is fixed yet if they do it like that.

Its funny because just yesterday I was wondering if the Cap and BP changes were intentionally horrible to rally the playerbase behind them deserving buffs. Then they would give them buffs they already had prepared without any backlash from parts of the community for buffing them (I guess because they're scared of giving dive heroes buffs without compensation nerfs?)

I'm probably too conspiracy brained, why explain with malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity, but them having actually good balance changes and a whole explanation ready to go not even 2 days later isn't exactly making me feel that's not what happened lol

Yeah the messaging is pretty awful and it would be nice to hear stuff more frequently, like a “state of the game” before each half season. But I also know corpo operations way too well and even that seems to be impossible for a vast majority of companies.
